Some interesting info http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/championship/einkaufswerte/wettbewerb_GB2.html Well done Sven
And that is why we are currently the laughing stock of the Championship - Has to be said Pearsons value for money approach should see us regain some respect that we lost along the way (even if it does piss off owners and supporters of clubs that are now the recepients of enquiries using our new player valuing policy)
Well look at Matty James, Danny Drinkwater, Ben Marshall and Ritchie De Laet We paid 1M each for them and if they all reach their potential they we would be quids in big time Apart from Kasper Schmeichel none of Svens signings have a potential big price tag if they reach their potential
But at the end of the day it was worth it for them. They have got that money back through promotion While we havent. Still there is a few good players out of that where we can build a base from what Nigel can build on
Not really sure what those stats prove. We already knew we'd be bottom of something like that, since we spend loads and didn't get promoted. But all the teams at the top of that list finished nowhere, except those that had spend money in previous seasons (Blackpool and Cardiff). The bottom four all finished in the top 10, so I guess the biggest failures are Forest, since they nearly got relegated.
That's based on media estimates and Neville has already said they're exaggerated. Although yes, he would say that.
What did u pay for Schmeichel?? The season before last he had an absolute stormer for Leeds against us, really good keeper.
Bargain, just goes to show you win some you lose some i.e great deal for Schmeichel, not so good for Mills, happens to every club every season im sure. Wonder what Pearson would except for Schmeichel now, alot i would av thought.
Kasper was a steal Danns and Nugent have proved to be very good signings Konchesky and St. Ledger was decent But the rest we overpaid on
From the outside looking in it seems it was Mills and Beckford that a big chunk of your transfer money went on, was there anyone else to add to them two who were not value for money??
We paid an intial 6M for them and had Sven spent it more wisely then we would have done alot better. In the end Sven didnt have a clue. Bidding 7M for Shane Long, 7M for Nicky Maynard, 6.5M for Nikica Jelavic Spending that money for a championship side is absurd regardless of weather the player is worth it or not
To be fair to Sven who gets abit of stick he did do some really good deals for you but unfortunately for him he will only be remembered for his poorer ones by alot of your fans like at most clubs.
