No Reuben Reid in the team or on the bench but Argyle start well. Possible penalty turned down early doors and Bobby Reid hits the bar with "every thing going though Lewis Alessandra" according to local Stevenage radio.

Down to 10 men for some time with Blizzard off for treatment seems to turn the tide though as Stevenage finish first half strongly.

Blanton on for Brunt with 25 to go on a pitch that's cutting up badly. Hmmm

I know my stuff. Banton starts brightly in a good spell with Argyle camped at the Stevenage end.

11 shots, 1 on target. Where's a 20 goal a season striker when you need one? Not going to happen for us is it?

Was babysitting tonight even though they aren't babies anymore so didn't get to listen or even log in on a computer this time except right at the end. Looked at it and the stats changed almost immediately for them and bugger me if it wasn't a goal. 88 minutes. Sick as the perverbial parrot or what. The other results were not flattering I see as well.

Must of been hard to take for players and fans falling to a sucker punch in the last minute.

What has been obvious all season is we need another experienced goal scorer......even when Reid and Alessandra where scoring goals another proven striker should have been there to replace either of them and to stop them being overplayed each week.

This is the area that Sheridan has failed to address all season.......Reuben has been out twice this season with injuries, which is unfortunate because he has been so injury free for a season or so. We have struggled every game without him being there, we lack any depth of cover up front when he is missing or comes off early.

Brunt is young and has not enough experience to play more than a covering role for more than ten or fifteen minutes.....so Sheridan's failure to bring in a top striker to take the pressure off his two main goalscorers has made promotion a hard thing to achieve......I still believe that our starting eleven should have got us into the top three.....but something is letting us down.....is it the coaching side....or is it the lack of an obvious plan B.....we know the lack of a back up goalscorer doesn't help.

Am I right in thinking that Sheridan has a year left on his contract ?..........I do feel that if we don't go up this year he should have his contract terminated.....thanks John for taking us this far but we need more.

Contrary to what I expected, Banton seems to have done well when he came on. That's a first recently and maybe if he's back to the form he showed in his first stint with us, he could be an option.

Yes notDistant.....amazing isn't it.....give Banton a crappy muddy playing service to play on and he starts to perform......incredible......he's got nearly snooker table smoothness at Home Park and he plays crap....what the hell turns this player on I don't know.

I remember seeing him score an individual goal .....cutting inside at the corner of the penalty area and stroking the ball into the far corner.....goalkeeper having no chance as the ball curved around him and just settled inside the post......that was at Wimbledon during his first spell (1-1result).....I was directly in line with his shot behind the goal.....he just looked the bees knees......and when we actually bought him later on, I thought wow what a good deal.....Sheridan must of been so disappointed when he failed completely to perform the next season and this one as well.

This win a few lose a few thing is no good enough for promotion. Even if we got into the play offs I'm not convinced we could beat any of those other sides over 2 legs to get to the final let alone win promotion. I'm not even convinced we can make the play offs at all.

It's no good any of them having a good game if you lose. We lost end of so nil points. It's disappointing to concede the only goal from your own corner and that isn't the first time we've done that this season. It's no good Sheridan saying it's frustrating or it isn't good enough or anything else for that matter. We were like the Bank of England previous, hard to get anything in. Now we are giving goals away so what's changed. Don't mank on about it fix it Mr Sheridan you are the Manager.

Talking of Managers I see theat odious little cretin Westley is off again. He's complaining about his players allegedly being kicked off the park now. As I recall when they were at Home Park they thought the pitch was a rest home and they lay down on it as often as they could and for as long as they could. If there is one Manager I hope fails it's him. I have no kind words for him and I don't care how ungracious that sounds in defeat either. He is the worst example of a football manager there is.

I said on another forum to watch out for Northampton as they were beginning to put it together. Well they are here and I have little confidence in Saturday if honest. I want to be wrong as I always do when I get the wobbles but this has been another flatter to deceive season only our collapse has been earlier than last time. The sad part is this squad is good enough this time.

When in a game, away in a 6 pointer, do you settle for 0-0 and get 8 or 9 behind the ball and take 3 minutes for every throw-in? I suspect that unlike the cheats at Stevenage, we go on trying to win it to what is sometimes really a bitter end. Perhaps we need to be a bit less sporting too.

Otherwise known as "tactics" notdistant. In some ways I applaud the attempts to win matches but on another it isn't always what gets you promoted. Having said that I would hate it if Argyle turned out to be trying to match Stevenage. There is gamesmanship and then there is Stevenage.
