Not much of a match report tonight because:
    a) nothing much happened.
    b) watching the egg chasing.

Newport came for a point and got one, we didn't score for the third match in a row. Bobby Reid should have, Tareiq H-D nearly did and Reuben should have had a penalty. Otherwise it was a game littered by mistakes, some odd refereeing (but not the worst), no subs by us until 10 mins from the end, Luke didn't have a save to make and not a lot else.

Oddly, due to the other results it was a point gained , not two lost and Argyle move up to 8th.

Thanks Lindy for that.....two points dropped....and we still improve our play-off chances.....we can't keep doing that.....the lack of goals is worrying.....will Reuben last the season...and is he fit enough to score any more goals.....the lack of mid-field goals will be the end of our chance in the end if we're not careful.

I think Reuben is finished (for this season) - his injury is clearly having a big impact on his ability to influence a game. JS' comments about the crowd are simply disgraceful. It is very clear for most that it is now promotion or sacked.

The first half was forgetable in so many ways. I don't think we had a shot either on or off target and they could boast perhaps one although it never looked like it would end in a goal. The Ref was the usual crap. Where on earth do they get these people from?

At least in the second half I think Argyle did go for a result and as lyndhurst said above I think Newport set out for one point from the start. I have to admit that I could see Bury all over again. Us going for it and them breaking away and screwing us over. I did comment that I thought they had watched that video. If anyone was going to win it I do think it was us. The Ref continued to be a complete bone head in the second half and I think should hang up his boots. I haven't seen a decent Ref in ages and generally they have all been really poor. Not sour grapes but I just have to wonder what they are watching or what they actually see. Nailed on penalty for me that Reid should have had and the Ref seemed to wait and wait until he pushed back and then gave a foul to the defender. Unbelievable and the chants of "you're not fit to Referee" rang out once more. This league seems to be a lot about officials which says it all for me.

Still in the mix but to be honest I'm still not convinced we should be or we will stay there anyway. Sheridan apparently made comment about booing. He was on about half time but I did not hear any booing then at all and if he did then he must have been listening to commentary elsewhere. Don't blame the supporters Sheridan because you are on thin ice with a lot of them already. Yes there was booing at the end. Not sure who it was directed at but a lot of it must have been the Referee. The players did not deserve to be boo'd even if the supporters left frustrated.

One mention for the Police. What a bunch of idiots they are. They stopped people going down the steps outside the ground to exit the park by the Barn Park exit. They made us walk another 200 yards or so to go around just to walk down the same lane we would have walked down had we gone down the steps. By the time we had walked around and taken longer to get away from the ground they opened the steps up and allowed late comers to use them. All this time the Newport fans were still in the ground anyway. The Police on this occasion were stupid in the extreme. I believe they cause more trouble than they solve at games and that's sad.

thanks sensible, It takes us so long to get out from row Q of the Lyndhusrt that the police were letting us down the steps by then so cant really comment. Off to the Cheltenham and Portsmouth away game so it will be interesting to see what JS' comments are about the fans then! I agree with all yr comments about the ref- I have almost given up worrying about them. The best example of a good ref was in the England V France eggchashing tonight, clear, consistent and calm. I have tried to keep faith with JS but his lack of tactical nouce is really starting to wind me up. Surely in a game like this with neither team worried about relegation we should be going all out to win? Bambi (aka mellor) was obviously told not to attack until the last 10 mins. Instead of claiming we are playing a 3-5-2 why not admit it is an 5-3-2 as that is how they play.

    Grumpy, you bet.

I think I could join you in that "Grumpy you bet" comment lyndhurst. I was hacked off at half time with both Argyle and the Ref and at the Ref, Police and Sheridan at full time. Note not at Argyle in the second half. It really is frustrating watching football in this league. The players cave in half the time and the officials are aboslutely pants. They give such bizaar decisions and bookings that sometimes I wonder if I've dozed off for a second and missed something myself. I certainly don't think we have had a homer all season. I get frustrated at Sheridan for seemingly doing nothing when it clearly isn't working. I get more than frustrated when he comments on the supporters because they have backed this club far more than it deserved to be backed and him despite his obvious shortcomings results wise both last season and this.

ps. I too think Rueben Reid has had it. He clearly isn't fit and it is not doing anyone any good to keep playing him when he isn't.

I think by the sounds of it today.. the exit door is half open for Sheridan now.. Will we miss him? i think not. We should be top 3 at least.

    It's turning into a real could-have-been should-have-been season.

Clearly Reuben & Lewi are our best 2 strikers when they're on form. They aren't on form though. The first has an injury and the second has played nearly every minute of every game. Why not start Brunt and Banton with the other two on the bench?

Not a good use of a banjo DC.....welcome.

I was surprised at Sheridans rant at the fans that I listened to on GoS......these are the fans that travel thousands of miles supporting a team with a poor away record this season.....and have been expecting better performances at home......seems to me Sheridan has lost the will to live by moaning at the Green Army....if he upsets them he will regret it.
