Would love this to be true, but I'll not hold my breath.

I don't quite see the value in signing players from clubs that were relegated. Perhaps it's not fair to tar the player for the club's failings, but if they were that good would the club really have been relegated. I don't remember seeing any match reports headlines along the lines of "West Ham lose despite Upson heroics."

These "rumours" are getting silly now. How many is it we are rumoured to be interested in now? We need deals, not rumours.

    Just got this off JA606:

"My dad is an editor for the sports section in the mirror . And apparently news has come in that swansea have made a bid worth 1.5m for Gareth roberts . and a further 2m for burnely winger C.eagles neither bids have had a reply as of yet but will keep you up to date with the news
With my dad coming from the swansea area , He told me to publish this on your wall to inform you ??? "

    Hmm...

Well there would be something wrong if we weren't linked to players, the problem is that a paper like the mirror has over an 85% fail rate on rumours, and the toilet papers are not that much better, large pinch of salt needed, only will believe the club press releases and website

Of course, but we seem to have been linked with 10 players that eachtime Huw has come out and denied any knowledge at all lol.

The only Gareth Roberts listed on Wikipedia is 33+ years old - a short defender played last season for Derby - worth 1.5M - perhaps the M stands for 1000's and he's going to substitute for the tea lady at half time. Eagles ... 2M ... really .... if so what is Sinclair worth now.

    Upson - The lad's on £60k a week!

There are at least 3 Gary/Gareth Roberts I know of. The 33yo Derby Defender (decent player, not £1.5m decent though), the Port Vale Midfielder (looked good when with Crewe, not seen him since) and the Huddersfield winger (former Ipswich and LOW player, would be decent enough backup for Dyer but again not £1.5m decent)

And Eagles at £2m I can kind of believe though I think that's probably at least 500k too much, with most of these quoted fees I would expect a portion of it to be clause related to us staying up.

It's nice to hear all these players being linked. Eventually one will be right.

As for upson. Wages to rich but could be an ok signing. lacks a bit of pace though. Still it will never happen.
