As I generally do this time of year I thought I'd do these from a backward perspective.

Chelsea can celebrate this evening. having held Burnley to a draw they can now stop looking over their shoulders as that valuable point means they are now mathematically safe from relegation.
Meanwhile QPR's defeat at Hull has ended their dreams of lifting the Premier League title for another season.

In the Championship, one more defeat for Blackpool and a win for Boro would end the Seasiders' dream of returning to the Premier League in August.

Yeovil Town's quest for the Championship is far from over, with a 71 point finish being just 14 wins away. Meanwhile Bristol City fans will be quaking in their boots after losing at Colchester as the result means they still need 17 points to guarantee at least League One football next term.

Hartlepool are just one defeat away from waving goodbye to the League Two title but they are a couple of week away at least from blowing the playoffs aswell.

Nuneaton and AFC Telford can thank their luck stars that there is a route into League football via the Conference Playoffs as they cannot overhaul Barnet at the top. Dartford are on the bring of blowing their title aspirations also.

News from North of the border to follow at a later date!

    North of the border:

Celtic are now safe from the drop after edging Hamilton by the odd four goals on Sunday.
Meanwhile Motherwell, Ross County and St Mirren can forget about the Champions League for another year.

In the Championship Hearts are safe and there will be no more dancing on the streets of Raith next time they drop a point as their promotion prospects will be ended.

Into League One and if Stirling Albion had their eyes on the Championship, well they can forget it! Stranraer may be safe from automatic relegation but they are a long way off avoiding the dreaded relegation playoffs.

In League Two Queens Park need a couple of wins to ward off the spectre of the wooden spoon, which means that Montrose can still dream of reaching the dizzy heights of League One.
