And you genuinely believe all of these clubs wouldn't take Williams for £1m? You even named Wolfsburg who offered £2m for him 5 months ago. I don't want to drag this on any more than it needs to, all you've done is list 50 clubs... You haven't actually thought about any of them as a team, just named 50 clubs. In fairness, you're probably right about Man Utd, Man City, Barca etc. But i think you'd find you're seriously wrong about most of those.
its a stupid comment, how can either of you back up what clubs would be interested or not? The simple fact is I can't see either going, and Williams is worth far more than that, he is an integral part of our club who is under contract, and there is no way we would let him go cheaply, because we would have to replace him with a player that would probably cost three or four times as much, if we refused a million for pratley in january on the risk of losing him on a free now, we certainly wouldn't sell williams now.
Obviously Jager neither of us can back up what clubs would or wouldn't be interested, but that is the joy of opinion and debate. My original comment was made in support of how highly I think Williams is rated and how good a player he is. Thanks for pointing that out though, it did save me emailing 50 clubs to actually ask them all...
Didn't know about Wolfsburg, fair enough though he would be a bench warmer there, i'd say at least 90% of them wouldn't. I think every one of those teams - bar Wolfsburg, Stuttgart, Werder Bremen and Birmingham finished in top half of their leagues. You guys, naturally considering its your club, are overrating williams, he is a good player at championship level but totally unproven at PL, so why would these top clubs buy him? And yes i have thought about them, as i said, this is off the top of my head.
Ash is under contract until 2013 for us, taylor is also under contract until 2013, so can't see either going unless a large fee is paid especially for williams, we sell him for upwards of £5m we will replace him with a similar player, it makes no sense!
i too believe he is worth more than 1m, more in the region of 3-4m but I honestly have no idea, i just posted a bloody rumour ffs!
Why are you losing your temper? you have linked to where you got it, some media hack who works for the mirror, not exactly the best source, I read somewhere once that at least 80%-90% of rumours in the media are just rubbish, I would say its higher!
Just as a closing comment, I appreciate we rate Ash highly because he is one of our players but believe me when I say we aren't over rating him. True, he isn't Prem proven but it's only a matter of time.

Fair play though, that journo is clearly a grade A plonker. We, a club with no debt, who´ve just won a "90million pound game", who´ve just made 5mil + from season tickets, are willing to sell a quality CB to a team with rich owners for 1 million. God I love quality journalism! This guy clearly needs a lesson in speculation, to make most people believe it it´s got to be at least a LITTLE plausible...
Err.... yeah. Roger Johnson is a big powerful centre-back, but a footballer? A mediocre one at best. Ash has played 146 games consecutively (I think, something like that at least) since coming to the Swans, been part of a defence that has kept 20+ clean sheets in the last two seasons, and is unanimously regarded as one of the best CB´s outside the Prem (until we got promoted anyway!). 5mil would be the least we should accept man, we have no reason to sell. Not one.

Not really as these rumours tend to be picked up by the media, they read the mirror then post it as if its their idea, I can't see it to be honest unless the figures increase significantly
As an example of how easy the media are to manipulate, on an Arsenal board a year or two ago they wondered whether transfer "gossip" on these forums was finding it´s way into papers in the way of "EXLUSIVE!!!"´s. They started a thread about this player they were signing (I forget who to be honest) but lo and behold, the next day their bit of "(dis)information" was on the back page of one of the red tops. Never believe anything you read in a tabloid, or on skysports. For god sake, the latter employ Jamie Redknapp!!!
