Thoroughly deserved defeat by Norwich this week-end. United clearly didn't do enough to get anything from that game. For me a few things became clear:

    - Giiggs should no longer be a starter for a competitive match. He can contribute but he can no longer hold that midfiled and his play lacked penetration thorughout.

    - Rooney was missed. His midfield role linking play with the attack was missed as well as his partnership with RVP. United without Rooney is toothless.

    -Cleverley was missed too.

    - Hernandez may well be the true supersub. He was not as effective as he was as a sub coming in the last 45 minutes of a match.

    - As I said earlier, a 0-0 scoreline is worse than a 0-1 (or even 0-2) in the first half against United. Slow play with a ponderous midfield is not United's style. After 20 minutes at Norwich I knew we were in trouble. It seems it is more difficult for United to get going and "throw the kitchen sink" at 0-0 than at 0-1 or 0-2 down.

I don't see how that match means Hernandez should be consigned to super sub, it's not like RVP did a lot either. Both we're feeding on scraps.

As much as I love Giggs I think he should retire and go into coaching at the end of this year. Scholes still has his fantastic eye for a pass and offers a distinct threat when he comes on but I don't think the same can be said for Giggs.

Anderson should have started imo, he's been in good form, takes players on and has supplied a couple good/great assists already. He would have linked the midfield and attack far better than Giggs (or cleverly). That or played Ando and Cleverly and gone all out attack.

Can't really complain about Hernandez after you complain about the link between midfield and attack that was missing. We all know Hernandez wasn't going to fix that.

Time for Giggs to go. He's nothing more than a passenger nowadays. In the 4 games in the league he's started this season, we've lost 2 of them. I'm not saying he's the reason we lost. There's 10 other players out there, but his lack of pace, energy and willingness to keep giving the ball away whilst trying fancy **** flicks that never come off is tiresome.

Our best performances this season have been when he hasn't been in the team. Newcastle away and Chelsea away are 2 games that particularly spring to mind.
