First game of a new season, and new dawn ffs, so deserving of a thread. Am on a ship near Brittany, heading back to blighty, so wont catch the game live. They may have it on in thr bar upstairs, so could see the first half, possibly. Anyway, the aim of the day is not to lose the first ****ing game of the season, at home, which has been the fair exclusive if Mr ten Hag the last few seasons. Let's not lose, eh? That's an idea. Team most likely to be; Onana Yoro (RCH) De Ligt (MCH) Shaw (LCH) Amad (RM) Mainoo Fernandes Dorgu (LM) Mbumo Sesko Cunha Although wondering if Fernandes might be one of the front three and Mbuemo benched with Casemiro or Ugarte in CM. We will see. Here goes another **** show.
Can't say I was expecting this. If Mount does play there (he won't, it'll be Cunha or Mbuemo) then that's a hell of a rabbit to pull.
Why isn’t Sesko starting today? That’s annoying! When you get new players like that, you want to be handing them the debut right away to usethat adrenaline rush, especially at home.
I thought that was a foul! Clearly impeding the goalkeeper. Sure, Bayindir should have done better but still
Really good first 33 minutes from the team. Very dynamic! So many shots on target. So much better than most games last season.
Am managing to catch bits, saw the goal live. Definitely a foul (again) but then also still piss weak keeping. We need to be on the phone to Donnarumma, this can't continue into this season. We've looked decent otherwise.
Really good all round effort and great energy. We’ll improve with the link up play inside the final third. Cunha was amazing on that left side. His decision making is a massive upgrade from Garnacho. Dorgu always wants the ball, and Mbeumo as an option takes pressure off Bruno. The defenders also didn’t give Arsenal any real sniff. So, more to look forward to.
Carragher - what an absolute ****er - "They lost [to Arsenal on Sunday] and at no stage in the game did I think Man Utd were going to score a goal."
