According to the Mirror, we're interested in a young centre-back prospect from Macclesfield called Elliot Hewitt, along with Arsenal and West Ham. Shame he's not the old head we're crying out for, but any activity in January would be welcome to bolster this crumbling defence.
Think he can play right back as well. Good player I hope that we go for a few decent players from L1 in the window. We tried the prem for loanees last year & it didnt exactlly work, but plenty of players have shown they can handle the step up. Lambert at saints is a great example as he had always banged them in in L1 yet no one took a punt on him & he is now joint top scorer with McCormack and looking a real handfull
I was a big critic of Clayton when he first joined but look at him now, imagine last season if we had brought 2-3 quality youngsters in the mould of Clayton and Lees, what a timely addition they would be now. I can't help feeling squad wise we are a season behind where we should be, let us hope the same mistakes are not made this time around.
