Regarding our youngsters, I have picked out the most promising (from what I've heard) from the academy, as well as the whole U21 squad: From the U21's: - Oscar Gobern (CM) - Ben Reeves (LB/LM) - Ryan Doble (ST) - Ryan Tafazolli (CB) - Sam Argent (RB) - Harlee Dean (CM) - Callum McNish (CM) - Aaron Racine (CB) - Jack Saville (CB) - Jack Stephens (RB) From the Academy: - Luke Shaw (LB) - Lloyd Foot (CB) - Harrison Reed (CM) - James Ward-Prowse (CM) - Jake Sinclair (ST) - Lloyd Isgrove (LM) - Sam Hoskins (ST) I may have missed some Academy Prospect's out. So, what are everybodys thoughts and hopes on these players? Are they good enough for our 1st team? Thoughts . . . .
Im liking the sound of Luke Shaw, hes been called into the England youth ranks a few times and he's barley 16 ! James Ward-Prowse is another who has impressed consistantly with the U18's squad this season, i keep track of the team sheet and results. One final thing, the idea of bringing them up through the ranks together, presuming they are all good enough, is a great idea as they will all know eachother well and have a good team morale. As most of us know this is very imortant among a team, we don't want a Man City. 'quality players, no morale'
Shame the academy has dropped to 2nd place in league after being top for so long, but a great season when you consider Arsenal and Chelsea are in the same league.
either way, being in the top 2/3 is still a very good achievment, as it does show we are able to compete, surely bodes well for the future
