I've witnessed deliberate attempts to slow the traffic by French customs using over long checks and less booths operational. The EU and their French lackeys priorities are to deter other countries from trying to break out.

 

No, just to keep out Romanian trafficking gangs and pickpockets.

 

The misinformation put out amidst anti European rhetoric is laughable... Trouble is some people actually believe it.. Just dross

You really do spout rubbish at times. We travel to France regularly, spain occasionally. There is NEVER a hold up at St Malo, Caen , or santander for that matter in either direction.There ARE ALWAYS long queues at Portsmouth, especially coming in, usually less queues at plymouth - we only ever leave from there.

 

100% agree.. I do this trip several times a year..and there is ALWAYS a long queue at Portsmouth.. And smooth passage on the French side

My main crossing point is Dieppe-Newhaven. I have to agree that there are always hold ups in Newhaven, but never Dieppe. Speaking to one of the security people in Newhaven he told me that Border Force are under staffed out sourced part-timers who didn't stay in the job for more than a few months. Most of them look frightened to death when a French car arrives, and they might have to speak. Normally the full time professionals in Dieppe will practice their English on us. A very different experience.

 

You have obviously missed the antics of Calais customs officers / police then.

 

I am told that they know how to pick out the dodgy looking English travellers.

 

Hopefully the French realise they have so much going wrong in their own country they will not spend energy causing problems over Brexit.

 

I take it that you know about the plans for increased infrastructure at Dover.

 

The EU are now threatening to kick out ex-pats in the event of a no deal, why would anybody want to remain tied to this nasty bunch.?

 

You really should think about what you say before you post. You are saying that the EU is responsible for individual countries immigration policy. Wrong. Each country can set its own rules for dealing with such matters, in exactly the same way that the UK has always been able to set its own procedures for non-EU citizens. The fact that the UK has failed, and judging by the white paper today will still be failing in five years time, says very little for the ability of a Tory run Home Office.

 

Why do you try to spread this poison ? The EU commission has urged its 27 remaining member states to take a ''generous'' approach to the residency rights of UK citizens in the EU following a no deal Brexit - provided this is reciprocated on the British side. The same conditions will apply as those which have been offerred already ie. those already resident can stay. In any case immigrants rights are partly protected by the Vienna Convention which covers so called 'acquired rights'. If you have any evidence of any other arrangement then kindly produce it here, without resorting to this sensationalist propaganda.

You didn't care about them when you voted leave, why do you suddenly care now?

 

I voted for the benefit of the majority that live in the UK and the ex-pats when they return to live in the UK, as most will.

You're supporting No Deal even though it's obvious to anyone with half a brain that it's going damage the economy and make everyone poorer (apart from Mogg and co). If you genuinely cared about UK citizens you would be against Brexit and not vote Tory.
