Labour has opened up a 3% lead in the latest opinion poll. There can be little wonder that the Tory party has seen its support dive amid all the infighting. Say you will do the impossible and fail is a certain cause of disaffection.

 

It doesn’t take long for the public to always return to the default position of not trusting the LP.

 

If you look at the last twenty years, how many of them have seen the Tories trusted enough to give them a majority in Parliament?

 

The Tories have been trusted enough by the public to keep them in power since 2010. Normally opposition parties are way ahead mid term. The Lib Dem’s and Labour are considered simply not good enough to trust with public office.

 

At this stage I would prefer May to be replaced by David Davis with Rees Mogg as Chancellor. This would unite the party and keep the DUP on board. This would also end the requirement for a GE.

 

As usual, you ignore the facts that Labour have governed for just as long as the Conservatives over the last 70 years.

 

Ok, the Labour Party has a well earned poor reputation since 2008. The public just doesn’t trust Labour, especially with the Marxist twins in charge.

 

I wouldn't say that this is a sign of political instability SH. If you want signs of that then look closer to home. What happened was that one driver paniked because of being surrounded and drove over someone as a result - a tragic occurance, but one which could have happened anywhere. I must admit to scratching my head about people who are prepared to go to such lengths because of an issue such as diesel tax - where is the environmental consciousness ? Personally I would be quite happen to see petrol and diesel prices increase 10 times over if it would lead to fewer cars on the roads. What we need is a revolution in the role of public transport (preferably electric).

Your forgot the 200 + injured and scores arrested. Many of the demonstrations were aimed at Macron’s unpopular policies.

Macron's policies are mostly Thatcherite ones SH. so I am surprised at your constant attacking of him. Also, the scores of injured and arrested, does not tell us a great deal about the stability, or otherwise, of France - it tells us that the French police are rather heavy handed on such occasions, which we know anyway. One thing which I will complement Britain on - it's police are , mostly, more restrained than you would find elsewhere.
