A place to discuss the events in UEFA land during the 2025-26 season. UEFA CL/EL games not involving Spurs, tournament draws, which UEFA officials have been arrested etc. Info on club rankings, tournament draw "pots" etc : https://kassiesa.net/uefa
Spurs (UEFA ranking : 27) current possible CL group stage opponents (courtesy of https://kassiesa.net/uefa/seedcl2025.html ) : - Pot 1 PSG [5] Real Madrid [1] Munich [4] Inter Milan [6] Dortmund [8] Barcelona [10] - Pot 2 Bayer Leverkusen [13] Atlético Madrid [14] Atalanta [16] Villarreal [16] Juventus [22] Eintracht Frankfurt [23] - Pot 3 PSV Eindhoven [28] Ajax [30] Napoli [34] Sporting CP [35] Olympiakos [37] Slavia Praha [42] Marseille [44] - Pot 4 Monaco [54] Galatasaray [58] Union Saint-Gilloise [61] Athletic Bilbao [75]
The ranking isn't important in the new single league system. Every team plays two teams from each pot.
The ranking gives a coarse measure of the capability of each team. Anyone with basic nous on season planning would want to know the comparative strength of 8 possible opponents at specific points of the season, months in advance ...
Mason Melia with a goal and an assist in St Patrick's 2-0 win over Hegelmann, with them winning the tie 3-0 on aggregate
They now go into the 2nd qualifying round of the Europa Conference League. They face Kalju, which is apparently an Estonian team and not a giant Japanese monster. Their stadium has a capacity of 650: please log in to view this image Looks nice, though.
Some clarification on Palace being in the EL2 : Their owner also has a stake in Lyon, who also qualified for the EL. Which triggered UEFA punishment under their 'multi-ownership' rules. It seems since Lyon qualified via their league placing and not a domestic cup win, that the club with the easier qualification path (Palace) got the punishment instead (will be interesting to see this scenario when two such clubs qualify for the same competition via the same path) .
Palace were hopeful that it wouldn't be an issue. This is why John Textor missed the deadline for shifting his shares. Lyon were relegated in June due to their finances and then it was reversed.
