This parody tweet sums things up as we prop up the U23 league. What a boost for the confidence of our kids eh?

Played 3 - lost 3 - Goals for 1 - Goals Against -11 (assuming we lose 7-0 which I reckon it could be a record PL defeat tomorrow) - EXACTLY the same.

It’s another example of how our club is rotten from the top down.

Rafa has plans to stock the academy with new talent.. but a lock of paint is like a new signing to the fat bastard and his pet stoat.

I mean it's true our commitment to youth development has been shocking... but most U23s end up getting released anyway.

I would quite like to see Sorensen playing up with Joelinton at some point this season. I think we might see the rebirth of 442, because playing from the back is suicidal unless you are the best of the best.

Why Sorenson? He can't even get a game for Carlisle.

Our other players are absolute ****e and don't know where the net is. When he was given a run of games for the U23s he showed he can at least finish well.

I remember lots of strikers doing that over the years then go on to nothing

That's true, Ferguson.... However, Harry Kane...

If we are going to spend **** all, you have to hope that one of the academy graduates sticks. Sometimes you don't see the best of them on loan playing with low quality players, particularly finishers, because they don't get the opportunity to finish.

I mean, I think they have played 2 games and he's played in one of those, so I don't get your agenda against him like <laugh>

No agenda I just don't see the point in over hyping him when he's not starting for a league one club. Bruce and Shola do know what they are doing <laugh>

It's a club built on sand. It's a club with so much potential, but with a huge local support base, hysterical and deeply passionate in equal parts.
There has never been long term strategy. The club has always lurched from one crisis to another, with occasional periods of false hope and broken promises. I'm pretty sure the youth, reserve and senior teams have never all, say, finished top 6 in their respective divisions. With so many talented players, why don't we have representation in women's football? We have a great history, a large and perfectly located stadium, huge and passionate support, an attractive if under-invested city. This club should be so so much more.
