I think this was covered a few weeks back when Caulker joined us but it's a bit quiet tonight and I wondered what peoples thoughts were after the first very tough away game.

Early doors I know and a combination of potential injuries and or suspensions can influence Malky's decisions, but who do you see as our regular centre back pairing this season?

I felt before pre-season that Huds and Turner would have fought tooth and nail to hang on to a very successful Championship partnership, forcing Caulker to impress, and not just rely on his name to claim his place in the starting eleven. Don't get me wrong I was impressed by what I saw of him at the Boleyn and Huds pre-season was below par, but Huds is a real presence at the back, and as last season proved, we generally lost our way when he wasn't playing.

Yep, I think Huds should be in the team, yes he has been of the pace pre-season but quality will shine through. For me Huds and Caulker, don't care they're both right footed, they're paid big bucks to do the job asked. We need an old head in the defence, that much was clear on Saturday.

Only saw the highlights on MoTD so can't really comment on last week.

I agree Huds was right off the pace pre-season but unless his injury was hamoering him surely the rustiness will have been trained out of him by now? We are much better organised when he plays and is on song so perhaps Hudson and Caulker should play Sunday. Caulker quite often played left cb for Spurs as Dawson was the right cb in situ so he is used to playing that side.

    Over to you Malky.

One other point, Caulker has to restrict his wanderings upfield during open play, particularly against sides that can hit us fast on the break. That's partially how we got done for the first goal at the Spammers. He went forward, the ball was lost and Connolly was isolated, they scored.
