and a few more of Europe's top clubs including Fiorentina, Zenit, Udinese and Spurs according to the Daily Fail. Then they go on to basically say we will sell if they match the 13m we paid for him. What a load of rubbish, if Gyan goes and those clubs are after him then 25m, not that I want him to go as I don't. As for Spurs maybe Kranjcar, Defoe and 10m http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Tottenham-Real-Madrid.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
I'm sorry to say hat I'm quickly getting to the point of if he goes, he goes and if he stays, he stays. Modric from spurs, clichy from gooners, young from villa all show that everyone seems to do what they like.
No player is safe from the super rich clubs. I don't care what people say, they can have who they like, when they like.
Personally I dont think Gyan is going anywhere, and not for less than we paid for him, that would be suicidal , Brucie would not like the flack from that one, at all. I give more more credance in the second article. Udinese have entered the race to re-sign Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan. The Italian club, who qualified for this year's Champions League, are looking to invest the £35million from the imminent sale of Chile international Alexis Sanchez. And Gyan, who had five years with Udinese at the start of his career, has emerged as their number one target although they face competition from Tottenham, Real Madrid, Fiorentina and Zenit St Peterburg. Gyan's exploits in front of goal have made him a wanted man Although he scored 10 goals for Sunderland last season, Steve Bruce may be prepared to sell if clubs will match the club record £13million paid to Rennes less than a year ago. Bruce has already signed strikers Connor Wickham and Ji Dong-Won this summer and he remains interested in Jermain Defoe, Shane Long and Stuttgart's Russia international Pavel Pogrebnyak. The Sunderland manager hopes to conclude deals for Manchester United pair Wes Brown and John O'Shea this week. He said: âIt looks good, we are very close. Wes is travelling up for talks and we have also spoken to John. I would say we are inches away.' Incoming quality: Sunderland have already landed new strikers this summer http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...yan-chased-Udinese-Tottenham-Real-Madrid.html Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has promised there is more to come from him as he prepares for his second season in the Barclays Premier League. The 25-year-old Ghana international scored 11 goals, 10 of them in the league, during his first campaign on Wearside, but is confident he will make an even bigger contribution this time around. Gyan told the Sunderland Echo: 'I'll definitely be a better player next season. As I said before I came here, it was my dream to play in the English Premier League. I feel I have established myself now, but there is more to come. On a mission: Asamoah Gyan is determined to make an even bigger impact for Sunderland this season 'The fans love me which is really important. When the people are behind you, you keep going and I hope to do more. 'It depends on me keeping working hard. There are some seasons where things don't go well, but that doesn't mean you are a bad player.' Gyan arrived at the Stadium of Light in a £13million-plus switch from French club Rennes in August last year, and having played a major role in his country's World Cup finals adventure in South Africa, was eased into Steve Bruce's team. Recruitment drive: Steve Bruce has been busy However, he believes a full pre-season and the experience he now has under his belt can only improve him this time around. He said: 'It's the most difficult league in the world and you need to be 100 per cent fit to survive, which I wasn't when I arrived. 'There have been plenty of good players who have come to the Premier League and not done well, so it just shows how difficult it is."' Gyan will be the senior man in a new-look strike-force with 18-year-old Connor Wickham and South Korea international Ji Dong-won having been drafted in last week. He himself has been linked with a move away from the club this summer with Tottenham touted as a possible destination. Indeed, his agent Fabien Piveteau has suggested the player will hold talks with Bruce on his return and that at least one offer has been received, something sources on Wearside have dismissed. Gyan and his team-mates are due back for the start of pre-season training on Wednesday, and they could soon be followed by further new faces with Bruce and chairman Niall Quinn continuing their efforts to land Manchester United trio John O'Shea, Wes Brown and Darron Gibson. It is understood significant progress has been made with O'Shea and Brown in particular, but that nothing is yet complete despite the Black Cats having a joint bid of more than £12m accepted some time ago. originanal link http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...e-Bruces-bonus-Asamoah-Gyan-vows-improve.html More...Sunderland aim to secure United trio as Bruce bids to continue spending spree Countdown to kick-off: Our guide to all the Premier
spot on so its time for me to just accept it and hope that on kick of we have a team I can be proud of, not a lot more I can do.
Just got to get the best deal we can for him. How much that is, iv'e no idea, but the more clubs after him, the higher the bidding will be. I expect they will be a profit, but not half asmuch as some seem to think.
£25 million is the minimum. If he is to leave, i second poolie, Spurs, in exchange for Defoe and Krajkaer, then if we add Pob or Welbeck, we're good to go. I'd still rather keep Gyan than any of these options, i fel he's more than a footballer for us, he's a bit of a team figurehead, a real character.
Every player has his price and long terms contracts only guarantee that a fair price can be negotiated. Like many here, I really dont want him to go at all but if he wants to and the someone is willing to pay it, nothing less than 30m minimum for me. He is a proven International; has scored 10 goals in the EPL already in his first year and there is no doubt he will be twice as good in his 2nd year. Goals per game ratio will be very good too and he is only 26 and in the peak of his career. Andy Carroll for 35m? Henderson for 20m? Downing for 20m? Gyan is better than all of these but you have to factor the 'surcharge' for English players so 30m would be a fair price IMO. However, I restate my desire to see the lad stay and play for SAFC in this new look side SB is building.
I would agree with Cest but 30m is a huge number (in anything other than bloody football!). Would love to see him stay, would love for him to want to stay but if he goes then we must ensure that we have a replacement lined up (please no Bent again - would that be a U bend?) and ensure that we make enough to clear the price we paid for him and to sort the incomer(s). Happy days
If players want to go there is nothing we can do i would like to keep him but as i said yesterday Kranjcar Defoe and Hutton PLUS maybe we can start talks lol
Dont forget, we hold the upper hand here, as he still has 2 years left to run on his contract. If someone is willing to pay 30m to loosen our grip, then it softens the blow. With 30m we could buy Doyle, Long, Hutton AND Krancjar?
Love these £30m price tags.... No club in England is gonna pay that for him. Maybe a foreign one, will part with that money (doubtfull though). So there will be no swap deals involved then, so it'll be hard cash talk. If SAFC slap a £30m tags on him, and refuse to negotiate anything less, no need to worry, he'll be going no-where.
