So what did this mean ? Just more of the "uplifting" words or something positive going to happen. Tony Fernandes : "QPR fans stay strong like Airasia all stars. A lot is being done behind the scenes. Our players will do it. QPR Airasia one family."
He should focus on AirAsia with our understanding and support and delegate QPR decisions within an agreed framework.
I do admire the man's positivity, even if it borders on naive delusion! Clearly a very disappointing w/e for the Rs for many reasons but we must not give up. Who ever succeeded by giving up? As Churchill said with great political incorrectness, "K.B.O"!
Ok tony will probably back Harry but rest of board surely can't be happy, Amit is passionate about the club & also Rubin, got to split on wether we keep him .
I don't really want to be part of the Air Asia family at the moment thanks Tony. Loads of sympathy for the victims etc, but although it had nothing to do with the crash, flying on a day you weren't meant to shows that your company was bribing officials in Indonesia and you are in a heap of ****. I know this is endemic in the aviation industry, but sadly you will be made an example of. Good luck.
Afraid that is just highlighting that QPR, like Airasia, are going through a major disaster. Right now, when people hear the word Airasia, they think of plane crash. When they hear QPR, they think of another crash. I feel really sorry for Tony. His two biggest business interests need his attention, but quite rightly he is focusing on Airasia. Their troubles involve loss of life, which must put football issues into perspective.
As we can already see, Tony's tweet means just what you want to make it mean ... depending on your point of view.
Sadly, it would not surprise me if the guy implodes in the near future. I'm beginning to think he's on a downward spiral (sick pun definitely not intended) of poor fortune - some undoubtedly of his own making - from which he won't recover.
Yes, often these 'shooting star' tycoons crash and burn spectacularly, I think we may all be praying Amit and the Mittals are there to pick up the pieces cheaply...
He also mentioned in an interview last year that he is getting divorced. While I doubt this will be as damaging to his bank account in Malaysia as it would here or in the US, he has kids and its bound to add to the overall stress. He still has something of Suleiman Usman (Flashman's Lady) about him.
