Does anyone else watch programmes like Pointless and the Chase and wonder how the hell some of the people on them ever thought they stood any chance of winning?

They come across as having about as much general knowledge as a ******ed chipmunk. You'd think their friends and families would have the decency to tell them that if they enter everybody's going to think they're watching a special appeal for the mentally handicapped. Not a good advert for the education system.

    I like pointless

I think the problem is that although you get some thick gits on it, generally people have the wrong strategy

In the final rounds you have categories like sport, music, archeology etc

most people go for music or sport but the question will be like how big is wayne rooneys knob

no one goes for the 'harder' categories but i reckon the questions would be easier more often than not

That In it to Win it the other week - "what's the currency of South Africa?" this woman says "hmm - are they in the EU?"

On Pointless Fan, I tend to agree but it'as just impossible to know what people may or may not have said when asked. That said, if you have any idea of politics at all you;d have to pick it because that's the one area where there's millions of pointless answers.

I've a colleague who has almost bankrupted himself creating two game shows for TV. He's spent hundreds of thousands of pounds in getting the game to 'pilot' stage and had a big name TV presenter do the show. He's got his fingers crossed that he'll get accepted and if so, he reckons he'll be absolutely minted.

funnily enough the first 2 times I played I won and nobody believed I hadnt played it before
A relative who is highly competitive played regularly and I battered him at it

A few months ago took the kids and was showing off and landed on my arse, got a call from my brother laughing at me
a lass who knows the family was there and got a picture, I remember seeing her but didnt recognise her as she i 18/19 now and I last saw her when she was 10/12

now they all think I made up the bit about winning the champagne <laugh>

Pointless is ridiculously hard to win and the prize is a tiny amount of cash, well named.
