Congratulations Pep, totally smashed it. He has proved United posters, in particular, wrong. Even beating Carlo’s Centurions record of goals. City have now scored 100 goals twice, Chelsea once, Liverpool once. Strange that United have never managed to score a century despite their years of dominance. Do people think Jose has it in him to conquer Pep one more time?
What Guardiola has done is smash the **** out of every team beyond top five, who are all complete ****e. Fair play to him for that, no other champions have ever done it really. From a United point of view, it doesn't bother me in the slightest they scored loads of goals in the process, it's still a stand alone league win. We tended to be more concerned with winning it again the next season, and the one after that, than to be to be ****ing over getting a hundred goals. If he wins it next year I'll be more impressed by that than them hammering a load of dross this season. The PL is weaker that it's ever been in that respect, everyone from tenth (Newcastle) down is genuine relegation candidate in any other season and wasn't that far off being so this season. All the other managers could learn from Pep in that respect though. If the opposition is gash, ****ing hammer it. Fair play to him for that.
You don't get points for scoring lots of goals though mate! Not sure if Jose has still got it in him for another title. He's still good but doesn't seem to have that twinkle he had a few years back. He's gone back into petulant mode recently and appears a level below Pep atm. Overcoming City is a big ask. If I had to bet I'd say United will boot him out before he gets near a title. Not impossible. If they make some signings and make a good start next year then game on.
Now Stoke have been relegated, what is going to be our new cliche phrase for teams we dont think can hack the rough and tumble? A Tuesday night in huddersfield?
