After looking at the race cards for today, I am struggling to find enough for a L15 - so will probably have a bet free day today, which after yesterday is probably a good thing
Well there's always: Trixie. A wager on three selections and consisting of four separate bets: 3 doubles and a treble. A minimum two selections must win to gain a return Patent. A wager on three selections and consisting of 7 separate bets: 3 singles, 3 doubles and a treble. Equivalent to a Trixie plus 3 singles. One winning selection will guarantee a return. Basically a Lucky 7 Round Robin. A wager on three selections and consisting of 10 separate bets: 3 doubles, 1 treble and 3 up-and-down bets (each of 2 separate bets). It may be considered to be a Trixie to which 3 up-and-down bets have been added. One winning selection will guarantee a return Roundabout. As Rounder (above) except the ATC doubles are to twice the stake, e.g. £1 win A, ATC £2 double BC etc. Note: In the event of an odds-on winner the complete returns (less than £2 in this example) from the winning single are bet on the appropriate double.
I've got no massive reasoning behind this but a trixie of 3 of De Sousa's rides at Catterick Zizum Ventura Knight First Quest Also foolishly taking Lexington Grace for the hat trick at Brighton despite the extra 6lbs
Funny , but every race whether a seller or group one has a winner etc , just because they are low grade races , people dismiss them as no good. All the connections would disagree and so should we , granted it's harder to predict but there are clues , stable form , jockey bookings sometimes, ground and trip plus the other variables such as luck!!! Many of the horses running in many races are just getting a blow , handicap adjustment etc , that's where years of punting and losing are invaluable to separate those with chances to those without --sure some races are easier on the face of it , maidens are notorious for upsets ,handicaps are just that , but it's all part of the battle of wits and knowledge with the bookie -- Hugo p loves a Newcastle winner and Josephine G goes there after riding one for him at Catterick, handicap debut and first
Run since gelded , trixie forest dragon 10/1, Harlow 10/1 pick a little 11/1 at Brighton for in form m Blake - Good lUck all
She seems to get a lot of rides for different trainers. I think she has 2 rides for Palmer at Newcastle, both handicaps, but neither of them are handicap debuts as far as I can see rudey
Leicester 3.55. Sumbal 13/2 with WH. This horse has been running in Group races in France and was sent over for the Champion Stakes at Ascot 2 years ago. Out of his depth there against the likes of Fascinating Rock, Found and Jack Hobbs. Drops into a Class 2 race today. Loves the trip, goes in the ground, decent pedigree and Atzeni booked. Looks like an early Christmas present but no doubt a paddock inspection would be advisable before backing as he was rusty last time out
I see Buzz goes at Brighton today (4.20), a course he loves and is 6/1 co favs of 3 and might just be shading favouritism. However, rightly or wrongly, I see him as essentially a fast ground horse and might not be suited by ground with the word "soft" in it. If he gets unplaced it might do his handicap some good for when next he gets the ground he loves.
Indeed and as one of those bookie chappies once told me ‘the 5/1 winner of a seller pays the same as the 5/1 winner of the Derby’. I was a bit disbelieving of this at first but no, troops, this is true.
4.00 Galway Arbre de Vie 15/8 Seems the bookies can’t give this Mullins horse away which is slightly off putting but I do think the disparity in price between him and the Meade horse now looks a bit big. This is ADVs trip whereas the Meade horse wants further and is making his reappearance, along with giving a bit of weight to my selection too. Trappy affair, Mala Beach is a horse Boris done a fair bit of blowing about one time but has been off an age and the Blackmore ridden horse is no mug either. Decent chase this for mid October.
Good start with Shanning going in 3/1.Willie is flying at the minute, not going to give Gordy any sort of head start this season it would seem!!!
Held up, raced keenly, headway 3f out, ridden and weakened over 1f out (tchd 4/1 and tchd 5/1) - Stone last . Hopefully paddock inspection was an off put
