What are you basing this on? He barely had an opportunity to touch the ball since we were on the back foot the entire first half. Ba made a few good runs and looked to have a lot more pace than Shola does
I thought Ba looked better than Shola and Shola wasn't brilliant. Can't understand why he took Ba off, his movement was good!
Good to have a non-incident related statement from the club. In the pre-match interview for ESPN Pardew said that the bulk of our money was yet to be spent, and we have the money to spend big on the right player (not exact wording, but to this effect). Hoping we'll see this come to fruition.
I watched all the pre season games and he looks like he is going to fall over everytime he gets the ball. I'm just pointing out he is no better than Shola
Pre-Season friendlies are NOTHING to go by, if we give him time (which I suspect you wont) then he will start to have some pretty respectful goal tallies. You need to be patient with these things, it's not going to help him being partnered with Ameobi though!
Ba has scored vs Liverpool, Man City, Stoke, West Brom and West Ham. I don't expect him to be awesome, but i think he has the ability to score at this level. I predicted 12 goals for him this season and i'm sticking with it. When ever he's warming up his shots are always curled into the side netting. His finishing is excellent. Give him time. A lot of players were **** pre-season, and Arsenal aren't exactly push overs. Shola and Ba wont work for me, but i'd still play it vs Sunderland because Super Shola comes to life
Personally I don't trust anything that comes out of that man's (or Ashley's) gob. That's a big TRY right there. Don't hold your breath.
