Let's take a leaf from one of our most famous supporters, Nelson Mandela, that after the necessary justice comes reconciliation. Don't know if anyone read the snide column of Richard Littlejohn (a big chum of MacKenzie) in the Mail earlier in the week, but the Establishment and its flying monkeys are expecting a retribution fest from the people of Liverpool. Mark my words, the Telegraph, led by Simon Heffer who wrote the actual Boris rant of 2004, will be the first to lead the backlash against the report, either this weekend or next week.

However, let's look for the positives now. Even if Popper, Duckenfield, Wright and Bettison are allowed to keep their pensions and shuffle back into their comfortable retirements the whole world knows what they are, what their apologists are and what the people of Liverpool are not. Their lifes' works and reputations are shattered and they'll stew in their own guilt whatever any court, here on Earth or elsewhere, does or does not.

I missed the 3.06 silence yesterday as I was working a train, but at that time, as a party of happy, smiling excited schoolchildren left my train I had a contented and happy feeling that at least this future of our country will not be exposed to lies and slurs that a whole city of the country are drunken, lying, theiving murderers who urinated on brave coppers as they tried to save people.

The world will keep on turning. Some, who really now belong with moon-landing and racist conspiricy nutjobs, will never accept the 'new' reality, but I am a Scouser, an honest man with honest, decent, determined and unfaillingly warm and generous family and friends from my birthplace, and I'll die a proud man when my time comes

The establishment reaction has already begun. Heffer's Telegraph didn't even feel that yesterday's revelations were even worth mentioning on their front page! Bettison's 'my hands are clean' statement is yet another indication.

Like you I will be proud to meet my maker as a Scouse and thank Him for that privilage.

Even though I hope that those responsible for gross incompentence, negligence and stupidity get what they deserve. I'm not holding my breath that they will. They will do their level best to cover up as much as they can.

  6. I'm not a scouser but I still feel a lot of pride in what the families and other fighters have done over the last twenty-three years. And that is as a Liverpool fan, a football fan, a Englishman, a Britishman and a human being <ok>

As I have said on other posts, I'm from Nottinghamshire and have had to endure the views of Forest fans for years. Because Clough blamed the Liverpool fans and the Forest fans (not all) believed him!

I'm not from Liverpool, but I'm deeply hurt and disgusted and angry that people whom should have known better did what they did. How they can live with themselves is a mystery.

I'm a spurs supporting londoner and I always disliked LFC (partly cos when I was 11 you battered us 7 nil and as a kid you won almost everything every sodding year and partly cos my school was filled with glory hunting kids who "supported" L'pool "cos their mums once bought a Beatles record" but mainly cos my mum married a child beating **** who supported Liverpool) I know that the last one technically ain't LFC's fault but I was a kid <laugh> ... I have also always support the campaign for the 96...that could have been any of us.
I love football banter and taking the piss out of others and having them do the same to me but this is about real life and unfortunately death. I hope those ****ers responsible for these needless deaths and the cover up are charged and rot in jail til they die...I ain't into retribution but in this instance I'm prepared to accept some!
I'm proud today cos I was once of those hundreds of thousands of football fans who supported Justice for the 96! And last night I was genuinely pleased that we never let you walk alone!

As you've said before mate it could have been anyone(Spurs, Leeds, Ourselves pre 89, Derby etc)who all played semis at Hillsborough and got trapped in the overpacked central pen in the Leppins Lane End.

    Cheers for your support rcl.<ok>
