Don't trust Boris at all, he is in a win win situation whether he stays or goes. Was behind Brexit but didn't really want it, and legged it when Europe was playing hard ball, surprise surprise. He is a selfish cnut and is only interested in his own political gain. It's all the innocent people that didn't want it that have to pick up the pieces. I do feel for May, but she's too greedy for power to let it go based on principles. It's a ****ing mess.
Boris who's real name is (Alexander Boris De Pfeffel Johnson)is an American/New York born mongrel, he has no place in being British Prime Minister. This nation's ****ed up and warped medieval/heraldic/monarchist constitution will not allow a British born Catholic to be Prime Minister because of the refermation during the reign of Henry VIII, yet the Yank with the caveman looks and hair will no doubt be elected Tory party leader and Prime Minister in the next General Election. The country is well and truly ****ed if and when that happens.
IMO the tory scum will bide their time until something vital comes to a vote and then will collapse it. They haven't the balls to stand up in thier own party yet and collapse it but are willing to split their party in two internally. I think they will run this right to the end until a deal of some sort is now or never and will then turn and vote it down to force a no deal brexit. IMO there will be no election until that.
Not quite Legally true as the law only states that a Catholic can not advise the monarch on the appointment of CoE Bishops etc... this is seen as a blocker for a Catholic PM but a PM could theoretically let the Lord Chancellor do it. But I take your point and agree with it lol. There should be no such thing as a state religion or any bar on certain religions from holding office. And yes, this would undercut further the legitimacy of the monarchy but hey that ship sailed long ago with parliamentary sovereignty which technically interfered with the Devine right of the monarch to rule... Looking at a choice between this continuing shambles or the prospect of a Labour govt lead by a group of professional sideline protesters I'm back to my musings that a United Ireland might be the best option lol. At least Jeremy Hunt is no longer Health Secretary .... silver linings etc
Here in NI, we are losing out on the youth commonwealth games 2021 and now could lose Derry airport because additional spending can only be authorised by ministers of assembly which is on its extended holiday...you know, where we elect these people to do a job and then they decide not to show up for work? Yay to devolution etc etc
I mean the ****ers have collectively been paid 9 million in salaries for not actually turning up for 18 months and counting. That's not including pensions and expenses. The 2 main parties should be sent on a one way fact finding trip to North Korea.
Yeah, whilst you're spot on with the nuts and bolts of the Catholic/Prime Minister thing i remember reading that Norman St John-Stevas who was a Roman Catholic and part of Thatcher's government was prevented from standing for Tory party leader because he'd be unelectable as Prime Minister because of his religion. Just think that this country will never truly take its place in the modern world with outdated **** like that, can you answer me this Frank, I'm assuming that at the time of the reformation there were no Muslim/Buddhist/Harri Krishna/Sikh/Hindu politians in Parliament at that time, so can a member of one of those religion's become British Prime Minister? As for a united Ireland, I'd love to see it, and for it to be part of the EU with all the benefits therein, but extremist Loyalism would rear its ugly head before the ink has dried, won't happen unless the Unionist people agree to it, but Turkey's don't vote for Christmas.
I think the same emancipation laws prevent Jews in the same areas as they prevent Catholics... I mean Disraeli was a convert and that's the only time it came close in that he was a Jew but not a Jew lol. Iain Duncan Smith was a practising Catholic but let's face it he was never be coming PM lol. Not sure about the other religions tbh. It'd be a cultural thing more than legal I'd wager. I mean Labour should put forward a Muslim as leader just for laughs to see what would happen....
Yeah... unfortunately none of the feckers were on it at the time lol. I fecking hate those monstrosities. But hey? Apparently we are a wood burning province lol... surprised they don't get some of that subsidy all the rich proddy farmers were getting lol
It gets pretty lawless over there this time of year Frank, blind eyes are turned by many in authority to make sure the bonfires burn brightly on the night no matter how dangerous they are and that the parades wake up all the nationalists in the contentious areas early the following morning.
Tbf... you've got to applaud them for being able to March in straight lines after drinking and dancing and singing about being up their knees in all that blood all night never mind blowing and banging instruments in school band uniforms...
Yeah, it's the same here in Liverpool (on a smaller scale of course), the toy soldiers playing their triangles and drums etc marching through town followed by numerous drunks wearing Rangers tops. Their routes take in the many Irish pubs, they get heckled and laughed at and spit their dummies out, it has sadly turned to violence on many occasions, usually a pub on Renshaw St (the Liffey)gets attacked about 8 o'clock every 12th morning(YouTube it), they're lunatics.
Innocent? What about all the innocent people who did want it? The working class, who've seen the gap between rich and poor at its widest since the birth of the Labour party. Innocent? The boardrooms of the Remain-demanding corporations that get their arses kissed by the EU and allowed to move their profits around to evade taxes? Richard "subsidy junkie" Branson? The luvvies who evaded taxes and ****ed off to tax havens, then made out what great socialists they are? Jeremy ****ing Clarkson? You mean those innocents? I do not think that word means what you think it means. Argue for the EU - while not really wanting a bar of the Euro or full integration, because Remainers can be Eurosceptic, too - but don't call yourself a socialist, because any radical socialist programme would be illegal under EU law. You'd be a Blairite at best. And that's why Corbyn has been lukewarm about it. Sure Boris is selfish but then everybody votes out of self-interest. It has certainly been a mess but the Remain decision to disrespect the entire concept of democracy has as much to do with it. Ironically, the EU could've avoided it entirely had it given concessions to Cameron before the referendum but it arrogantly thought the vote was already won. Its bluff was called and now it can't afford to be reasonable for fear of a domino effect. And Remain has given it all the ammunition it needed to keep it a mess. A bad deal is better than no deal? Bad deals are what loan sharks thrive on. Seriously, would you let these people sell your house for you? Speaking of words not meaning what people think they mean, Che Guevara and the Sandinistas were populists. Trump is not a populist, other than he pretends he's anti-establishment. Populism is egalitarianism. It is not shorthand for racist, misogynistic, homophobic nazis.
The one where the ****ey little accordion band keeps playing the Sash as it's kicking off ... dedication
There's a fat baldy ****er in the video pushing his brethren away from outside the door of the pub, but the same "peacemaker" is spotted minutes later on another video dragging a Liffey customer(with the help of others)around the corner and beating him up, for merely giving the parade the middle finger. Merseyside police viewed the video and decided against prosecution.
