don't see what's wrong with looking around at the free agents, etc in our division, as long as we don't sign more bloody kids from the mancs
Vela and Macheda on loan, that young winger chap from tottenham too, hammill in, Gerard on a free, snodgrass on the cheap and maybe grant lead bitter? Andy king? Easily a promotion winning side
Why do people talk such rubbish? We have spent the last 18 months establishing a good Championship wage structure. Why would we thow all that away by seeking to sign some of the mentioned players who are out of contract at the end of the season. Or maybe people actually believe players such as Snodgrass, Thomas, Steinsson etc etc are actually going to sign contracts with us thereby halving their current salaries. These are all established Premiership players or players that are good enough for the Premiership.
I know this wasn't directly at just me but I'll say this anyway: Of those players, Jerome Thomas has spent more time in the Championship than the Premier League, and with the wingers WBA have it's looking more and more unlikely that he'll be released, especially if he knows he won't be getting much playing time. Marc-Antoine Fortune is no spring chicken, and I'm sure WBA will be looking to improve on the likes of him, considering they no longer appear to be yo-yoing, and are keeping themselves lower-mid-table. David Jones was released by Wolves, and only penned a one-year deal at Wigan as backup - he's played only 10 games this season. If Wolves go down they'll need to reduce the wage budget, so I would expect Kightly to be available. Guzan is hardly going to oust Given, and hardly looked Prem standard when he was here. Lovenkrands has aged and has lost a fair bit of pace, which was probably the only reason he could hack it in the Premier League - he'd still be very good in the Championship though I reckon. The likes of Aguestien and Jackson are hardly 'established PL' they only came up with Swansea and Norwich this season, and Jackson is behind Holt, Morison, Vaughan.. Steve Harper I can only feel sorry for - 151 games in almost 20 years, and was loaned to Brighton in '11. I think you took my list far too seriously anyway, I was just letting people know who was available. Oh, and Bolton have three right backs - if two of them have contracts expiring then I'm sure one of them will leave.
