No Swans footy to look forward to for a few months so I've got to deal with the withdrawal symptoms. As a result I've been trawling for news on players we might sign for next season. Now, I stress again that these are RUMOURS - pick the bones out of them as you will, as a bit of fun. To start the ball rolling I've come up with this little lot:- Siggy £7 million. YIPPEE!!! Caulker back on loan. DITTO!!! Traore £3 million. YES PLEASE. Collins £4 million UGH!!! Redmond from Brum for Routledge and £2 million. Moore off to Blackburn £1.5 million. Lita interesting Bristol City, Charlton and Leicester. Aiden McGeady - tricky winger ex Celtic. Michael Owen on a free. No way could we afford his wages, imo, but if we could, he would be a VERY interesting signing. PS: Trunds supposed to be on his way to Gloucester City. That's my lot for now - bound to be lots of others. It will be interesting to compare these rumours with reality when the time comes.
Not a transfer rumour but some genuine info, Vorm is selling up and moving to live in Cardiff, I assume to be closer to Cardiff airport to visit the Netherlands?
Last I heard he was extolling the virtues of living in the Meridian Tower so I'll be surprised if that's true. The Club also has a policy of encouraging players to move into the area not out of it. Cardiff airport is an hour away!
I've heard this is definatly happening so you can quote me if you like !! Cardiff city fc to be transfered to kuala lumpur, malaysia
well it looks as if we are going to lose siggs as the club only want to pay £4 million for him, so with siggs wanting to stay and hoff wanting to sell to us then obviously the club dont think he is worth more than £4 mill and will look else where, Ok i would have been happy with £5 million and maybe add ons depending on staying up next season but it seems jenkins dont think he is worth that....
I haven't seen £4 mill mentioned anywhere,Dai. Do you have an unequivocal source for that? Seems a bit on the low side for a player who has been lauded by almost everyone. I think your £5 mill is about on the button.
Gylfi Sigurdsson says he is in the dark over a proposed move to Swansea as reports claim the club have failed with a £4m bid. Swans boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to wrap up a permanent deal for the Icelandic international and is reported to have made his first offer which has been knocked back by German outfit Hoffenheim. The Bundesliga side have not said whether they are willing to sell but if they do it will be for at least double what Swansea have offered. Rodgers is expected to go back with an improved bid but Sigurdsson says he is set to go away on holiday and will not think about his future for a couple of weeks. "I'm going on holiday, I'm going back to Iceland and we'll just have to see what the future holds," he told walesonline. "I have no idea when a decision will be made. I'm not thinking about it for the next few days." Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked with the player but Swansea will be in pole position to strike a deal as long as they can agree a fee with Hoffenheim.

if jinks thinks he will get siggs of £4 million then he is not in with a cats chance, ok i think Hoff are overvaluing siggs TBH and i hope jinks when he is in germany will make a sensible offer like £5 million cash with another £1 million on how he does next season, we must not get the player at any cost or we could be burnt with a player who maybe has had a good season with us and scored goals as a newbie but might not get the same freedom of these chances next season, and lets be honest here since his flurry of goals teams have closed him down and he is finding it a lot harder to score...I hope jinks can make a deal but a sensible deal and if they still want £8-10 million then walk away as that is silly money for a player they let go on loan who has had a quarter of a successful season with us....
Huw has said in the past we pay cash up front. With Sinclair there was a promotion bonus involved to Chelsea but I doubt we'd do something similar with Sig... we can't get promoted again! I can't see them going for something on "goals scored" or "appearances made" because, given his form so far, we'll end up owing them loads more money. Huw, I'd imagine, will have a total amount we can spend set aside and if Hoffenheim will take it we'll get our man. I reckon £7.5mil is an absolute bargain. How much did Henderson cost?
the trouble with £7.5 million scott is that is going against everything we stand for and will be more than double we paid for danny, I think we should stick to our principles of a maximum of £5 million for any one player with a possibility of add ons if we stay in the premiership next season. we have got where we are by not paying silly money for players and it has worked so why break all our rules to get a player that imo is over priced. if hoffs dnt like our offer then as the saying goes "there are plenty of fishes in the sea" its the job of our scouts to find them players....
I don't know. For players who fit our system, as long as we can afford the fee, and we CAN afford 7.5mil (although, granted, it'd be a fair chunk of our transfer budget), the transfer fee is almost irrelevant. Brendan has spoken time and time again about the need for the right type of player, and more importantly, the personalities of the players in the squad, and Gylfi clearly fits in. We'll probably get money off any fee on account of us having paid his wages so that'd make his fee comparatively cheaper than going for a completely new player, and I think he'd only get better next season as he's so young and blatantly enjoys playing for the Swans.
The advanced midfield role is so critical to the system that we should splash the cash to get someone we know fits it perfectly and enjoys being at Swansea. Go up to 8 million and cut back everywhere else if we have to. IMO.
