For good or bad the rumours are still flying, here are the latest batch. Straight from mill.. * 29 Dec 2011 17:46:26 Ed why do all Bristol city fans think they gonna get 4-5mill for Maynard surly they not got much choice as he can go for nothing at end of season value can't be much more than 1 million with so little left on contract? {Ed001's Note - because they have seen Nasri go for 20m+ with just a year left. It could happen, but I doubt any team will be willing to pay that who wants him. They want him as a cheap gamble.} * 29 Dec 2011 17:05:51 Southampton to bag Nicky maynard from bristol city for 4.5million,Bristol to sign st johnson forward and Gibson from man utd on loan until end of season. *29 Dec 2011 16:56:33 Bristol City manager Derek McInnes is set to sell and loan out a number of players. The former St Johnstone manager is keen on loaning a few youngsters out as well as selling a few first team players to raise funds for his first transfer window. Jamie McAllister is set to leave Ashton Gate after an undisclosed fee was accepted by McInnes. McAllister has been a first team player in recent seasons but is in talks with his manager's former club in St Johnstone. Experienced defender Louis Carey, who is in his 16th season at Bristol City, is in talks with Portsmouth. Club captain Carey, is keen to stay at Ashton Gate but is set to speak to the South Coast side after McInnes told him that players would need to be sold to rasie funds. Yeovil Town have made a loan bid to sign Ryan Taylor. Taylor only just signed in the summer from Rotherham. Taylor has recently bought a flat in the area and is not keen on moving away so a loan move to the League 1 side seems benficial. Taylor is expected to sign until the end of the season but no view to a permanent deal is expected. 18 year old midfielder Bobby Reid, currently on loan at League 2 side Cheltenham, is expected to be loaned out to Burton Albion once his spell at Whaddon Road finishes. AFC Wimbledon have made a loan bid to sign striker David Clarkson on loan until the end of the season. Christian Ribeiro has handed in a transfer request after being told by McInnes that he will be sold once the window opens and his loan spell at Carlisle finishes. Championship rivals Leeds United, seem to be keen on securing the 22 year old Welshman. Carlisle may be losing Ribeiro but will look to sign goalkeeper Dean Gerken. The second choice stopper is keen on leaving Ashton Gate to get more football and will sign for United until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent deal. Bristol Rovers have made a loan bid for young striker Marlon Jackson, once his loan spell at Cheltenham. A number of Championship sides have made bids for Nicky Hunt but the former Englanbd under 21 defender looks to sign for Scottish side St Johnstone. Hunt is close friends with manager Steve Lomas and is keen on a new challenge in a different country. Another young midfielder set to leave Ashton Gate is Aaron Amadi-Holloway, after his loan at Bath has expired, in order to join Yeovil. Another Bath City player on loan from City is Joe Bryan. His contract will be terminated in January, in order for him to also join Yeovil. Tranmere Rovers have made a undisclosed bid to take Lee Johnson from City. Premier League side Sunderland, have made a surprising undisclosed bid for Jamaican defender Damion Stewart. *29 Dec 2011 15:28:20 Oldham, Huddersfield and Bury are all looking to sign ex Bolton fullback Nicky Hunt. Hunt has been frozen out by successive managers at Championship Bristol City and the club are keen to remove him from the payroll. Hunt would be available at worst for a nominal fee but more likely a free transfer. The stumbling block would be his wage demands but there is rumour that Bristol may make a contribution towards them. *29 Dec 2011 15:14:16 Nicky Maynard isn't the only player Bristol City will listen to offers for as they seek to trim the wage bill and make room for McInnes to strengthen a unbalanced squad. Players such as Lee Johnson and Damien Stewart along with several other 1st team and fringe players could be exiting Ashton Gate. One player who isn't likely to be leaving unless a ridiculous offer comes in is Albert Adomah. with two and a half years left on his contract Chairman Colin Sexton knows Albert's value will increase. Albert is also going to be offered an improved contract to avoid a repeat of the Maynard situation so unless the clubs linked with him have more money than sense AA will still be a Robin in Feb. *29 Dec 2011 08:08:53 Championship-bound players from fire-sale club Hearts in January will be Templeton (winger), Driver (winger), Kello (keeper), Stevenson (attacking cmf), Sutton (target man). The only other notable talent is Eggert Johnnson who has already signed for Wolves. Not a rumour really - just guess work - but I'd imagine clubs to be looking at these players to be Bristol City, Middlesbrough, Burnley, Hull City, Coventry City and maybe Leeds Utd. Hearts will promote talented youngsters from U-19s, and if any of them look like they can pass a ball 20 yards, they'll be sold in the Summer. * 29 Dec 2011 01:20:56 Wigan to sign fryers on loan man u adomah from bristol city and rhodes from huddersfield sellin sammon and rodallega so martinez has funds available * 29 Dec 2011 00:05:32 everton in talks with spures of the possibility of signing steven pienaar back on loan till the end of the season and also showing intrest in kranjcar. moyes also in talks with bristol city of nicky maynard and was watching rangers striker nikita jelavic tonight! you seen it first! * 28 Dec 2011 11:25:43 Please can the management team of Bristol City look at Rob Hulse at QPR along with Hogan Ephraim who is also at QPR. Hulse could be the physical muscle at Bristol City upfront along Ephraim replacing maynard or on the wing. We need defence cover at the gate, let Pitman run off Hulse and he is the new Maynard. *27 Dec 2011 14:36:05 Bristol City set to sign fransisco Sandaza from st johnstone for 1.25 million.. Mostly good fiction.....
Quite a lot there and some very interesting. Sunderland for Stewart is bonkers, they could easily do better, Nicky Hunt seems to have interest hmmm and agent Jackson to the gas can't wait to see what Mcinnes does in January it's going to be interesting
Good job it's sunny and warm here in the Canary Islands otherwise my body would be in shock with all that information. Is it finally the time when the much needed clearout has arrived and we finally have the manager we need? From that information all the boxes could be ticked.
