quick one really. where do you all get your daily fix of transfer news/gossip regarding NUFC? which sites etc
Fergie won't want Ba, not a chance. He couldn't form a better partnership with Rooney than Hernandez or Welbeck could, Fergie will be looking at a young striker or hopefully RVP, although I accept he's likely to go to City for more money. Ba's transfer looks far too dirty for United to get involved in, I'd expect maybe West Ham or Liverpool to activate the release clause. Tiote is different, I'd like him at United he'd make the difference in the City games which Yaya Toure is controlling.
Tiote on form is the 2nd best defensive mid in the prem, but Yaya Toure is still a mile ahead of him or anyone else in that position. I don't think even Tiote would be able to handle him.
I disagree Tash, Yaya Toure is a beast but he's not all that great defensively. He excels to his very best when De Jong is in that role behind him, he loves the freedom to run at defenders and he's that damn strong it's frustrating. Best defensive/holding midfielder he is not. The defensive qualities of Ramires wipe the floor with Yaya Toure.
Ramires? I strong disagree. He's a great player, but his defensive qualities aren't up there with the best in this league. Yaya Toure should be given freedom to run, and he is at his best with another DM next to him so he can go forward, but his pure strength, presence and pace are devastating to those who attack his team. There are more tactically aware defenders in the league like De Jong, who IMO is the best DM in the league for reading the game and cutting out passes, but Yaya Toure is definitely IMO the best all round DM in the league. He can get possession back for his team very well, harass opposition players and cut out their threat. What I was really trying to say is that there's not defensive mid in this league, IMO, that can really handle a strong opposition presence like Yaya Toure can, and also become a strong physical threat. Even though Tiote is strong, I wouldn't fancy him up against Yaya. To be honest I wouldn't fancy DM's up against him in this league at all.
Don't really bother with gossip, its pretty pointless. If I do read anywhere I'd have a look on NUFC.com as they have a bit of integrity and don't just repeat every rumour they hear. They will often print a rumour and then discuss its likelihood. Or they just bang it in the rumours section with a source so you can search it out if you want. NUFC Blog etc just print everything, even the really silly stuff. It looks like its written by a child.
i normally go onto google then click on news along the top then put Newcastle United in and see what's happening!
I just go on the BBC gossip column because it summarizes all the bullshit efficiently. Also, I agree with Terry Hardacre, Yaya Toure is best as pretty much an out and out attacking midfielder. Tash's argument about Yaya is fair enough, but is actually only a reiteration of what Terry said except you still want to call him a DM (is that because he is on Champ manager?)... Obviously Yaya played DM, and with his height he's decent there, but he is awesome on the counter and Man City pretty much always played better when he was pushed on a bit (like vs us). I agree with Tash, though, in that Tiote wouldn't be enough on his own to nullify Yaya. Man Utd need to play 4-5-1 and employ two Tiote's to do that, but there aren't two Tiote's. On a happier note, Jerson Cabral looks like a good player from the little I've seen of him and might be a good replacement if Tiote went to Man Utd.
the teamnewcastle app on iphone is great!!!! collects all stories from chronicle, whatculture, the mag ...etc .....etc. is free definitely worth getting
