@bbcradiomanc: #manutd confirm 3 men who reportedly attempted to negotiate a deal for Ander Herrera were imposters & not acting on club's behalf #mufc
Seems like we were really after Kevin Doyle and possibly Michael Kightley ... http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/story-19743963-detail/story.html#axzz2doVlmtJZ Doyle is arguably not worth £5k a week on his goals to games ratio, never mind £40k! LOL.
I bet the imposters were journalists or something trying to prove a point or make a name for themselves. I see the moaners have already started on Twatter, saying that we haven't strengthened or anything. I think people want signings for the sake of them on deadline day - did someone say David Moyes?
Man Utd were embarrassing - bidding on every midfielder around, then spending 27M on a player who had a 23M minimum fee a week ago. This is what happens when you have an accountant rather then a football man as your chief executive.
If Man U really wanted Fellani they would have signed him weeks ago when Everton could have done nothing about it due to his release clause. Now they have had to over pay for him Its not like David Moyes wouldnt have knew about Fellaini's release clause either
There's no way we'll be paying £30k for anyone, never mind £40k. The best Wolves can hope for is a 50/50 divide of the wages. I think in the past, Leicester have paid the majority of a player's wages when he's gone out on loan (Beckford for sure, probably Danns too). Maybe it's our turn for such an arrangement. Can't see us bothering otherwise.
Score? Matty will go out on loan once the window re-opens, probably to Forest or Boro. We've still got Mclean and Proschwitz available if it helps, Proschwitz may be ****, but he's better than Doyle.
Doyle, once a decent goal scorer, is now on par with Futacs. Wouldnt add anything to us, so really glad we couldnt do a deal. Kightly, I wouldnt mind at all.
Jamie Vardy - 6 in 24 Championship games (goal every 4). Matty Fryatt - 49 in 197 Championship games (goal every 3.8). Considering Fryatt has over 170 games experience under his belt. He's definitely no better. Especially considering Vardy's work rate and pace which Fryatt can only dream of. Worth noting that it took Fryatt 80 odd games to reach double figures for us too.
Transfer window craziness. Bury sign 21 new players with Palace signing 16, making them the prems busiest club. Real pay 85.3 million for Bale, record transfer. Any idea how much money has changed hand this summer ?
This transfer window has apparently set a new record (2008 previously) - something like £650 million
