So what's the news (please kick me if I've missed a clear thread on this and just merge) ?

I looked at the transfer dealings and whilst Newcastle and Norwich are gambling on spending Villa, Swansea, West Brom and yourselves have so far been gambling by not spending. Are you expecting much in the next 12 days?

It's not just about overall cost (we spent £4-5m on Saivet and I'm not convinced it wasn't a waste) it's about intent and pushing the squad. You've let more players go than you've signed and whatever opinions of Graham were he was playing for you regularly which suggests Sam rated him higher than your current alternatives.

Fingers crossed wage bill is cleared a touch but alongside Graham, Pants, Buckley and Bridcutt you've cancelled a couple of loanees i think. Maybe just accumulating to speculate but without players in it may be cutting the squad to the bone a touch.

We've signed N'Doye on loan. Exactly the sort of forward we need, whether he's the right player we'll see but he took to the Prem well in his last short stint. We've got that German defender in to. Now it's clearing wages which we're managing so expecting something significant in the pipeline. Plenty of the month remaining now we've freed wages

We haven't cancelled any loans apart from bringing Pickford back

Personally, I am shocked that Pants has (or is about to be) gone! You guys have been critical of Mannone in the past so are you pinning your hopes in Pickford? Bit of a risk, unless Mannone is back on form!

Forgot about N'Doye, he looked good second half of last season - premiership ready.

5 in 15 isn't bad for a back to goal number 10. But I'll judge when I see him.

Fletcher to go. Graham to go. Lens to go. Cancel Yedlin & Toivonen.

Loads of room for manouvre. <ok>

Stuck with Ola fella, standard year long loan with a fee. We'd have to pay up his wages till the end of the season so wouldn't save any money.

As for Yedlin? I hope to god we didn't pay a fee on a youth loan. If we haven't we should be able to send him back.

I honestly though Ola and Yedlin had already gone back to their parent clubs (silly me!).

It's fine shipping people out if a) you have replacements now in line or b) you can survive anyway. I'm not convinced either are the case, I trust Sam to be doing everything he can (he's really not an idiot) but I'm no longer convinced in Short and Congerton - not sure i can back that up though.

Congers is gone but I reckon he did a good job given the parameters he had to work within.

If that pic of Fletch is correct then ****ing get in mate. Don't think we'll let Lens go like. Not sure I want him to. He's handy as **** in the hole.

I reckon Sam`s got his ideas for targets. I`m not sure the board has the savvy to do the biz though tbh. Don`t have a lot of confidence in them.

True although the job may have been poisoned by Di Fanti. Short keeps ****ing guessing wrong, acting on bad advice and it`s costing.

We only had one space left in the squad with a couple of seniors not named and full wage bill. It looks like generating wage funds if you ask me. We must be going to spend.

We don't need 3 first team quality keepers, We don't need Danny Graham. Nobody does trust me. Buckley, Gomez and Bridcutt have been getting nowhere near the match day squad when available. They're not needed.

Absolutely. I just wish he would up his work rate. The ability is certainly there.

Same with AJ, handy players but only chip in defensively when it suits. Great players to have in the squad. In the same team I'm very skeptical about. One or the other for me.

We're doing what we've needed to do for ages, getting rid of a bunch of poor players in order to free up wages and try again with a new signing or two. It might seem like an odd time to be doing it when we're in such a precarious position but we're not going to miss the players getting shipped out, barring really bad luck with injuries which can happen of course.

Nah what's the point in that... Why not make a complete assumption and write off our transfers before they've kicked a ball for us like a certain few posters on here do :)
