Aberdeen has just been given the go-ahead to reintroduce trams to the city centre. Not sure if this a good idea as the city is gridlocked most of the time and those bleedin' bendy buses take up some amount of space. ST - Is Edinburgh any further forward at looking into the re-introduction of Trams?
I read this as "Tramps". Was wondering whether Edinburgh had culled theirs but were considering reintroducing them to add some local "colour".
Should work like a treat. please log in to view this image Mind that is Sunderland, and not a lot changed.
You really need to ask what the **** happened to Britain after the wars. Was the nation so traumatised by events that every decision made was by ministers/councillors who were suffering from bi-polar/PTSD? For a nation that pioneered transport links, the decision to scrap multiple forms of transport in favour of road links, seems really silly now.
Spot on,they did it over here as well and only now opening them up again but thankfully they didn't build over the tracks but I think that was a bit of luck rather than design!
Not really, I find the idea of trams rather romantically fetching. The trams in Prague and Amsterdam are outstanding and they bring colour and excitement to the city. I'm all for it if we can get rid of First Bus.
Although there has been a few teething problems: please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Not really. I think of Trams as being feminine. I actually get an erection looking at old photos of the Trams in Aberdoom. You keep ploughing through the wives though in your futile and desperate attempt to deny your overwhelming homosexuality and cravings for cock.
For once, I agree with ER, trams are brilliant, I wish hull had them Question though ER, will the aberdeen ones be just in the city centre? I can't imagine Aberdeen is the biggest place though The trams in nottingham work really well
I think you are probably right, the trams will just be for the city centre, initially anyway. Why Britain as a whole dicarded the trams is beyond me. And they are an attractive feature for a city.
I'd much rather get rid of the buses and bring back the trams. A by-pass (which they have been talking about since the 1950's) would also be beneficial.
