Unbelievable stuff. He didn't settle at Leeds apparently and has decided to jump ship to Birmingham. His tour of the Championship continues! 'Good riddance' said Neil Warnock!
isn't there a rule in place to limit the number of clubs you play for in a season? he must have broken that quota by now...
The wikipedia entry is clearly wrong because he has turned out for Spurs... 2009– Tottenham Hotspur 0 (0) 2009 → Yeovil Town (loan) 10 (1) 2009 → Leyton Orient (loan) 22 (2) 2010 → Milton Keynes Dons (loan) 9 (2) 2010 → Ipswich Town (loan) 13 (1) 2011 → Watford (loan) 3 (0) 2011 → Millwall (loan) 11 (2) 2012 → Leeds United (loan) 6 (1) 2012– → Birmingham City (loan) 1 (0)
what is it with him? is it an attitude problem? he seems to have plenty of talent. needs to leave spurs i reckon and settle into a club full time before we know if he's any good or not!
When he was here, I thought he was our best player by a mile, attacking anyway. He's probably the best winger I have seen at the club. I couldn't believe that a) Keane signed him because he wasn't a Keane type player b) that he rarely played him when everytime he was on the pitch, he was our best player c) he sent him back because he wasn't getting enough games and was apparently not good enough defensively. IMO he could be a superb player and could well go on to play for england one day but it does seem a little odd the way he has left nearly all his loan clubs, there must be something wrong there. If we were to sign him though, I certainly would not be dissapointed.
it's clearly an attitude problem. Townsend wasn't sent back by Keane, he was recalled, most likely after a call from his agent to 'Arry, because he was dropped for Shane O'Connor for the Leicester game (in which O'Connor was outstanding and we won 3-0). Keane chopped and changed all his players and Townsend played more than most. He was OK, he was a danger in the final third, but Lee Martin has surpassed him by a long way this season. Methinks this lad thinks he should be in the Spurs side and when he's not treated as such then he can't hack it. Turned out for nine sides already and he's only 20!
He's not our player so I couldn't give a toss what his problem is. We've got enough to deal with at PR without worrying what our ex loanees are up to.
It only applies to permanent signings, and long term loans(full and half season, and any international). Emergency loans aren't counted.
I'm Cleggy's spin doctor. I am also his personal spy on not606, listening to what the fans have to say so that he can counteract before things get out of hand. Needless to say I have recently asked for a raise after saving his arse a few times already. Shhhhhhhhhh don't tell anyone else!!! <shiftyeyes>
