In fairness, the guy doesn't really want to be running the country at all, and is now seeking permission from the King to get an election in place so he can step down. From what he has implemented in the last year - and there has been quite a lot, it is very hard to see what has actually changed on a day-to-day basis, although from what I can gather, many Thai's in the northern half of the country still don't, and probably never will like him.
back in the UK now after my recent travels and have been going to Thailand for many years now, this year had a different feel to it, the stricter rules have only seemed to put off more tourists and the Visa rule changes are chaotic at best imo, crossing the boarder over lander is a lottery and something needs to change if they want to keep the tourist coming, they need a proper government in place asap imo..
