  1. Knowing our luck, we'll end up with Mick McCarthy.

I really appreciate Croydon's wholehearted and informed critique of Mourinho. And let's be honest - it ain't gonna happen. But at Spurs it's not like we're used to having only the very best managers around is it? I just could not say no to Mourinho, I'm afraid. Even though Steve Bruce is available...

TBH, I don't think it's that informed at all. It's long on personal opinion but short on facts and evidence.

If you want to discuss people talking bollocks, let's take your advice...

Six of that list were signed by Mourinho after he joined the club.

In other words, I was correct in my assertion that he has never worked with a squad he has inherited and prefers to spend on reassembling it as soon as possible, which isn't "bollocks" - mindlessly dismissing it as such without bothering to check, leaving yourself open to have your claim shot down with the added kicker that I once again state that you clearly are not reading what I am saying which makes you an idiot in my view.

hbic you big numpt...calm yourself! :), me using the word bollox isn't a personal attack, you should know my ways by now. As for your assertion about dismantling teams...where have I said he doesn't? I couldn't give a hoot whether he does or doesn't, hardly a mindless dismissal, argue with yourself on that one. I could also press home Real are not defensive, another of your assertions, also that they cheated before JM's arrival, but personally I'd rather not call you an idiot just because of that.
You're the one stating JM will do this and will do that, I'm just saying he's a winner and would not dismiss him even though its highly unlikely, something I said a couple of pages ago.

Well the stuff about how Porto and Milan won what they won was interesting and Croydon's assertion that Mourinho has spent loads of money at Real was challenged and he backed it up with names and numbers. I think most of what he's said is pretty well backed up.

Having said that I think that Croydon's self-confessed hatred of Mourinho as a man may, y'know, possibly be motivating his position here.

Whilst I acknowledge many of Croydon's points I just can't believe that Mourinho's success comes down purely to luck and transfer budgets. Plenty of managers spend big money but don't achieve what he has at every club he's been.

I'm sure you could analyze many cup winners' paths to success and see how often luck of the draw plays its part and how often early results don't look good. I'd imagine it is very often. (Now THAT, NSIS, is someone not backing up their argument ;))

Mourinho seems to get massive loyalty from his players - he's got a way of making players believe in themselves/him. Mostly, you'd imagine, cos he delivers results.

Biggest argument against him is the 1-0 style of football that we saw with Chelsea in my opinion.

Why do people wrongly assume that Mourinho's teams play negative football?

I used to think that but that got told otherwise and after checking out stats etc realised I was wrong.

Beats me ok, King. Some posters on here just seem to have a real downer on the guy, with no rational explanation why. You try and point out actual facts and figures to them, but they don't want to hear that!

As you say, his selection of facts is highly selective towards his view of Mourinho, and ignores any positive facts or figures - of which there are plenty.

  10. At the moment, Neil Warnock would do a better job for us than Harry.
