Off camera MP said it was the wind and a gipsy curse and all of Wycombe's goals didn't count.

I thought Janssen did quite well.
There were far, far worse performances than his today.
Other than that, I completely agree.

Davies can play there so even whilst Jan's out we still have plenty of cover. I'd keep CCV for the Europa games and I won't write off Wimmer, he looked a bit dodgy in his first couple of games last season but got going with some regular games.

Ideally I'd like us to get in Isco or Barkley and loan Janssen out to a PL side. We're better with Son upfront and I reckon Alli could do a job there too. I can't say I'd be too fussed if we didn't do any business though, January's not the time to be fishing around for new players.

I thought Janssen did ok. His confidence must be very low but he took the penalty he won and scored it. He nearly won it with a difficult header too.

I am against making 9 changes. What's the point? There's no pattern to our play and it makes it very difficult for the new lads. No more than 5 changes and sub off some players if we're comfortable. I am fed up with going to cup matches and seeing us lose to teams we could easily beat. That said, I'll be gagging for the draw.

Wimmer's probably fine and just a bit rusty.
He needs a more experienced head alongside him, though.

Davies is a good player, but he struggles with the way that Rose plays.
He's not really comfortable bombing forward.
Glad we've got such capable backup, though.
He's better than most team's first choice left-backs.

Soldado and Janssen were signed for different reasons and should be judged differently

Soldado was signed to go into the side and score 20+ goals a season, only to score sixteen...in all competitions...over the course of two seasons.

Janssen was signed to start as a bit part player who would grow into the side, so the plan was to give him starts in the cup games and have the occasional start in the league - but Kane's injury meant circumstances changed and he was flung in at the deep end ahead of schedule, similar to what happened in Kaboul's first stint at the club, and just like Kaboul's first stint at the club it worked out about as well as you can expect.

Of course this does point to a flaw in our strategy ahead of this season, as a large part of this plan hedges on either Kane being match fit for the entire season or Son being able to carry the load if the worst happened, neither of which is a particularly sturdy basis for anything.

Very nearly a disaster, assuming Spurs management want to win the FA Cup.If they don't,ok,play the reserves. Real Madrid just got knocked out of the Spanish Cup for the same reason.taking it for granted that a win against a lower team is a given and playing a lot of reserves.

I think a return to the Football Combination is required to give the reserves a chance to get to know each other....on the pitch...stopping clubs from sending players out on loan.

I heard Chelsea have at least 3 teams out on loan.that's farcical....and greedy!

Away from what took place in the 97 minutes of the match, I'd like to report on a truly emotional moment during today's half time break.

Our match day host, Paul Coyte interviewed Alan Gilzean and Micky Hazard.

When talking to Hazard, who of course discovered Ryan Mason, he asked Hazard how Ryan is getting on.

Hazard reported he had been talking regularly to Ryan's family and he is going to visit Ryan tomorrow.

Coyte then said, "have you got your mobile phone with you ?"

    Hazard said "yes".

So Coyte aaked him to put it on video and asked the crowd to show their support for Ryan and Hazard to film it to take to show him tomorrow.

Mason got a standing ovation from both sets of fans and a massive rendition of "Ryan Mason, he's one of our own" and Hazard filmed all 4 sides of the stadium.

It was amazing, emotional and a terrific show of support for a genuine guy from all our wonderful fans.

Dropped my uni kid off at victoria and me and my other daughter are on the train home.
    WHAT A GAME!
Like other I feel sorry for Wycombe but want to make a tew points.
    1) Was massively disappointed with GNK and Sissoko. Thought both could have been subbed at ht. Sissoko did better in second half but imho opinion was mostly responsible for the 3rd goal by stupidlylosing possession in their half which left us exposed at the back.
    2) CVC and josh were poor.
    3) Starting without an actual striker was a big mistake but was corrected at ht.
    4) We never found a way to deal with Ade Akinfenwa.
    5) The younger players will learn a lot from a tough match and hopefully the experience will keep them grounded.
    6) Our Subs all showed how to stand up to a physical game and deserve a lot of credit for their leadership.
    7) Mickey Hazard at ht was brilliant in his lifting the crowd with his remarks about how important the fa cup was and about ryan mason.
    8) The crowd were brilliant imo. We kept getting behind the team...imagine the booing if it had been the goons!
    9) That was a match we will be talking about for years to come cos it was so extraordinary...2 down to 2 all...down to 10 men throuh injury for the final 20 mins...go 3-2 down with 5 mins left but still win <yikes>
    10) That could be the last EVER fa cup match the lady lane gets to see...I hope it is ... as it would be a fitting memory

    Wow. WTF, pure and simple.
Wholesale changes sure, but many squad players have not done themselves
    any favours today.

"Full credit to Wycombe and how they played the first half. They were better than us. You know we are a team that is involved in different competitions and I think that if you sign for Tottenham, you are in the squad for Tottenham...If you cannot play in this type of game, then we will have a problem. Full credit to Wycombe though, they played well and found a way to create chances." - Poch

    Looks like he agrees.

The real worry from the performance is that a lot of players were given a chance, yet the majority of them failed to take it: CCV and Wimmer were both guilty of some heinous errors, Onomah was utterly anonymous, Vorm has to take a share of the blame for the first goal for being so far out of position, GKN seemed unable to control the ball (then picked up a knock, hence he was subbed at half time) while Sissoko seemed out of sync with the rest of the team as whenever he had the ball he always seemed to stop to wonder if he should pass or making a run rather than instinctively know what to do.

Winks and Janssen were about the only players who really made something of their chances - because, even though Son scored a couple to save our backsides, he missed a hatful to make the game more stressful than it should have been.

Intriguing quotes from Poch. First time I think I've ever heard a manager say something like that. But here's the quandary: what does he expect after making wholesale changes? Any team in the league that does that - from Chelsea downwards - will struggle massively if they did that. Not least because of sheer lack of time playing together as a unit and general match sharpness.

Our wage structure doesn't allow us to pay players a fortune to sit on our bench or in the reserves. Currently, I think our wider squad (i.e. players not in the starting XI) can be divided into 3 categories:

    1) Reliable

    Lamela
    Davies
    Wimmer (based on last year)
    Son
    Winks

    2) Promising prospect/needs more time

    CCV
GKN (sorry but he has shown enough this season to be placed in this category)

    3) Disappointing & currently nowhere nearly good enough to be relied upon to step up to the first team when needed

    Sissoko
    Onomah
    Janssen
Vorm (I like him, but a 2nd choice keeper who needs 'a string of games' to find his mojo is a pretty useless 2nd choice keeper)
Trippier (I know he has his fans, but the guy was a bottom half player when we bought him, and remains precisely that imho)

The hope was clearly that at least 3 players from the bottom two lists would come good this season, which would enable us to put together a whole bench of excellent understudies every single week. That can't happen, largely due to the form/trust issues surrounding GKN, Sissoko and Janssen. 3 of our 4 summers signings simply haven't justified the time, effort and money invested into bringing them to the club. I don't think any of them were seriously signed to improve the starting XI, but they were certainly signed to improve our depth. And that just hasn't happened. Had we not signed Wanyama, last summer would've been an unmitigated disaster of a window.

    Doesn't wash with me.
That line-up must have played a competitive training game, and with the 'opposition'
playing in the expected style of Wycombe, in the days before (I expect nothing less from
    Pochettino) .
