Got 4 shelving units full of tools in the basement, mostly minor stuff (drills, jigsaw, tile cutter, etc.) and then in the shed got saws and a massive axe for the garden. Makes me uncomfortable having someone else come in to my house to do jobs I think I should be doing so do all the flooring (skirting boards were worse than doing the floor tbh), tiling, plumbing and handyman stuff. Only do electrics with my father-in-law as he actually knows a bit about it though I have to do it as he's got arthritis now. I like doing things and it drives me nuts when a mate is talking about how he wants to put a shelf up but needs to borrow a drill...

It is more common for people just not to have tools now but to be fair people in their 20's are mostly priced out of the housing market now anyway so what do they need tools for?
