I make that 34 players albeit a couple are loan players. Plus there's a few more younger players knocking on the door.

Of the 34 we have 15 defenders, of which seven are CB's.

Goodness knows what our wage bill must be <yikes>

That is a huge squad and could do with a trimming. 5 or 6 to go I reckon (from Murphy, Juarez, Thompson, O'Dea, Slane, McGinn, Rasmussen). Plus El Khaddouri's loan will end shortly.

does anyone else think we have far too many right backs and too many inept central defenders?

Paul George has been sat on the bench for a small bit also.

Well Paul George would not take up much of the bench.
At a football club it is very hard to please everyone.
Many, many forums I have read that the club is too mean to bring in new players. When the board authorises new players they also get it because
suddenly we have too many players. It doesn't matter whether you are dealing in free transfers or players costing millions, it is a gamble to know
whether he can fit into the club/team or not. Then if the board are too generous with their wages, the club can finish up with surplus players. The
big problem and the one we should be worried about, is when the board decide we have enough or too many players.

I think we need some more midfielders.
