Well yes, I agree with the sentiment, but way bother trying it at any time when there is something that has been working for the last 2 months? EB can play the Hoolahan role so absolutely no need to have 2 up front, and as Supers says, 2 up front encourages direct play back to front. I suspect the midfield, other than Pilks probably did not under-perform, they were just swamped against a 5 man midfield put out by Villa. The defensive changes were unavoidable so I lay no blame on any of them as most of them rarely get a run out any more.
Totally agree re EB playing Hoolahan role. I don't know what's happened to Tierney - thought he was quite poor on Tue compared to his form last season prior to his injury and could be sold in Jan. Also I don't think RM should play full back, yet he's good as a CB.
