Anyone remember him. The young striker who broke through the academy but never really went any further. He will always be remember for that goal against Forest at the Walkers when he score the winner albeit a tap in from 2 yards. That season with Dickov, Deane, Benjamin and Scowcroft all scoring goals he never really got much of a look in and he was never going to cut it in the prem so he kept going out on loan. Well he is a free agent and I am surprised a league 1 or league 2 club havent at least looked at him. SKY spoke to him and basically advertised him http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19...tml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter please log in to view this image
Hes just been released by Darlington- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Wright_(footballer_born_1984)
A good lad who never got the chance to make it through. I am good friends with a Port Vale fan who tells me that Louis Dodds is doing extremely well over there. Whether both would've made it here is doubtful, but I'm surprised they didn't get more of a chance, especially when our team was far from strong while they were here.
Talking about Tommy´s, anyone remember Tommy Willams ? The copper top. Left football & became a copper.. not he did really, used to live at the top of Goode's Lane in Syston... How is Syston these days ? it´s been along time.
He was a copper, I played for constabulary with him in early nineties, also i left season before Andy Peake joined the police, missed playing with him!
Who remember when the original Tommy Wright chipped one over his shoulder in a 3-0 win over Wolves in the early 90s? I remember it because there were a bunch of Wolves fans sitting behind me in the double decker. Tommy shut them up and gave me the chance to look smug!
