I've checked, he played in all 7 games at the start of the season (including Europe), not in his favoured position but he didn't do a lot to impress did he? He got dropped after we signed Ben Arfa and Ramirez - both arguably better players.
We need to know for how much of the transfer window can Derby exercise their option? If they pay us on the last day of the window in full then we shoot ourselves in the foot as we either won't have a replacement or overpay in a panic for someone like Hernandez. I hope the Derby option is sensibly time limited to July.
I can't understand why the club would offer a buy out clause given that the prospect of us being relegated when he went on loan was considerable. He's exactly the type of player you need when trying to get promoted.
I think it will only be in effect until the loan contract finishes so we'll know in the next few weeks.
The loans finish when the season does, so it's finished already. The Ince's often holiday with the Bruce's, so they may well be discussing things in Portugal as we speak.
I haven't checked, but I remember him being a sub in at least 3 of the 4 European matches, and since we treated them as friendlies they don't really count do they? I think it was 3 league games he played, one of which he was pulled off after Chester got sent off. After Ben Arfa and Ramirez signed he went from starting as a target dwarf to out of the entire matchday squad. it's very reasonable to say he wasn't given a chance.
Long term loans run til the end of June, Derby are still paying his wages now. Once the loan contract has expired so do any clauses within it so they buyout fee will be redundant.
Would be a shame if we lost him, still reckon we should be aiming for somebody like Gnabry on a seasons loan as a back up

I think it's fair enough to claim he was played out of position and we've not seen the best of him as a consequence, but he has had a fair amount of game time and he has so far been fairly rubbish every time he's played.
5 starts including the League Cup. I didn't think he looked particularly rubbish at all. He didn't do anything, same as when Aluko, Brady, Ramirez or Ben Arfa were played in that same position, but we can't possibly judge him on that.
He was one of only two players from memory to actually make a decent run and get played through one on one, the other being Hernandez. He also looked very good against Arsenal in the FA cup.
Hd a flick through the Derby forum, they've some proper halfwits on there. Think they'll get him for £2.3m on account that's what we paid. Half of them are already talking about him as if he's their player. I reckon he'll get a gig in the premier league personally, but we should fetch decent cash for him.
I somehow dont see us shifting dodgy knees Jelavic this summer so your team looks good. imo. As Snodgrass and Diame wont be fit to start then slot in either Meyler or Quinn (Quinn for me) and no other championship team will live with that team. If they perform of course. With 4 league games and hopefully 2 coc games in August then the entire squad will get a run out. Very true but he will take time to get upto speed. As long as Steve Bruce can hang onto our key players then next season is going to be a dandy. We only have championship winners as an promotion to the PL option left now. Let us win a trophy again. !!
Derby dont have the wonga to buy Ince out right even if the HDM have it right. They have just signed Bent and Pearce.
