If Derby County can buy him as part of the loan deal they have a contract with Hull City Tigers Limited that has to be honoured. The only way we would get any extra money from Newcastle United would be if there was a clause that said we could sell him to someone else if we got an higher offer. Nothing to stop Derby County selling him to Newcastle United after he's their player though. Still plenty of time left in the transfer window. Hopefully we have a sell on clause in our agreement with Derby County.
That's not the way I see it at all. According to media reports Derby have agreed to pay the fee to trigger the clause that allows them to speak to Ince. But what if Ince rejects Derby? He might prefer to go to Newcastle or even want to stay with us. Triggers in contracts in football mean the selling club has to give permission to allow the player to speak with the suitor, nothing more. Triggers exist in nearly every player's contract in Spain, it's completely the norm. What if Allam suddenly spunked his entire fortune and Hull City met the trigger in Ronaldo's contract? He doesnt have to sign for us.
Just needs Tom Ince to say no to Derby and that "agreement" ends. Then HOPEFULLY make some extra wonga off the Toonies. Assuming of course that all that has been said and written about it is in fact true ?? twt....
