I thought he had a good game last night, surprised he's not getting enough praise after the performance against Brazil.
He had a decent match. Nothing memorable or a performance that warrants a start in the next match. But he did well enough that he didn't rule himself out. Is that praise?
It was refreshing to see a couple of passers in our midfield. Fair play to Woy. I thought Cleverley did OK. Wilshere was very good. He'd do well at United
interesting article regarding Cleverley which i guess reflect many points been raised here http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...s-the-point-of-Tom-Cleverley-for-England.html
A perfect assesment of Cleverly. He's not a killer, just a filler but a good one though. You can't just have the Chiefs, you need Indians like Clev. too. And while Wilshere and Gerrard were doing the killing, Clev. was backing up, following up and giving them options.
spot on i rate him tbh .. yes he is not a specially gifted player, but he offers alot to the team when play.. he is one of best balanced young mid in England, good tackle, good in shooting, work hard, great first touch pass with awareness of players around him.. like in life everything is a about the balance .. with alike of him or Welbeck and others, players like Wilshere , Rooney , RVP can focus more on their attacking duties and showing their skills
I think he's a good player, and looks to have cemented his place in the England team, having started every game since the euros. It's nice to see 2 central midfielders in Wilshere and Cleverley who can actually retain possession. Your Lampards and Gerrards are all well and good, but we can't afford to play them both together, as neither of them are particularly good at ball retention. That Brazilian side was a very poor side by there high standards though, to think they are 7/2 favourites for the upcoming World Cup is crazy, whilst the Spanish are as big as 11/2. If those odds are still the same nearer the time, I just might have a big wager on Spain, as I don't see Brazil or any other nation troubling them
I think the Wilshere and Cleverley due offer lots of fluidity and movement .. add to that welbeck, and walcott on the flanks (well even Rooney too may be).. you are having a very mobile England side may be for the first times since some years .. remember even Brazil goal came from a mistakes by cahil .. so this england team made Brazil really look like an average side or at least not as good as many were rating them
Which one would you play down the left? Can't remember ever seeing Lennon anywhere near the left flank, and can't see the argument for playing Walcott on the left just to put an inferior player on the right.
