i have just managed to watch the full game back and want to mention the most amazing bit of play I ve seen in quite some time.... quite rightly people will remember Tom’s goal, Sess’s pass, Norwoods blockand Kalas’s last minute header but around the 70 minute mark Fulham are down to 10 men defending deep and under a bit of pressure Tom Cairney gets the ball on the edge of his own box takes on one man carries it 15 yards beats another man carries another 10 yards before releasing AK who runs it down the wing when he looks up, who’s there? Cairney takes it back and as three Villa players close on him he pulls away by nutmegging Adomah and holding it up eventually giving it to Fredericks on the right wing! Just when the team is desperate for a breather talk about your captain stepping up!!
Yes. I thought Cairney had a great game before the sending off, but just seemed to raise himself afterwards, showing superb awareness and gamecraft, slowing the game down when we needed to, leading by example in how to see out the time. He was awesome.
