Long v samaras no brazil 14 v brazil 14 no champions league v champions league experience 3 goals v 8 goals which one sounds better
We're not in the Champions League, we're in the Premier League and Long has a better record there than Samaras does.
champions league experience with celtic, so how many times has long scored against barca ? , aluko and mcgregor didnt have epl experience either look how that turned out
Samaras has got Premier League experience, he played 54 games for Man City and looked out of his depth, that's why I said he was crap.
To be fair, like sagbo just said, he was only young when he was in the PL last time. If Bruce thinks he's good enough for us, I trust him as he hasn't got many signing wrong in his time here.
Samaras isn't nearly as bad as many make out and has been a transformed player over the past couple of years. I think many people's judgement of him is slightly clouded by his terrible form at Man City and the start of his time as Celtic, as ever since Neil Lennon took over at Celtic Samaras has performed very well. I've seen him a couple of times in the past couple of years, and although he has an inelegant playing style, he's a well rounded forward. I do however think buying him would be a gamble and could also prove to be an expensive move. After his form in Europe he'll likely have many suitors who'll be willingly to pay him a lot more than we can probably afford.
He was 23 when he left Man City, they bought him for £6m and sold him for half that and he was regularly booed at Man City. Has he actually got better, or does he just look better because he's playing in a **** league? (I realise he's had a few decent Champions League games, but the rest of the time he's playing in a mickey house league and even there his goal scoring record was piss poor when compared to Hooper's).
