We have eight or nine players out of contract in the summer, at least three returning loan players, at least three players on too much money that we're trying to get rid of, along with another three of the current squad likely to be on their way. That's potentially eighteen players leaving, even if we can't shift all of them, at least a dozen will be gone and replacements will come in. Who they will be remains to be seen, but I'd suggest they're likely to be an improvement on what we have now and we haven't fallen that far short in the past couple of seasons.
Brady signed a new one-year deal and they pretty much told Humberside that it was just so they can get a fee for him in the summer rather than letting him go on a free. That's all I'm going on when I say I think Brady is ours if we want him.
Interesting. I did wonder about that. I've defended him plenty of times on here because he obviously has talent but he just hasn't used it enough considering he's been here a year.
We haven't really given him the team mates to use it either. There's no point having a good crosser (Monday's shocker apart) if there's nobody who can get on the end of a cross, and when you've got a player who's tricky on the ball you want him running at the centrebacks or the gap between CB and FB, not running at the winger who's being covered by the FB and the DM and then the CBs like we've had Brady positioned to do.
