hope he's fit for when he's not starving himself and having no sleep and starts to be a bit more professional.

Why anybody would not drink any water while playing Premier League football is beyond me. Religion <doh>.

Religion is more important than football.

It's nothing to do with IQ, and it's absolutely moronic for you to suggest it is. Religion is something that affects your entire life. Football is just a sport.

Besides which, Pardew and co. will know Tiote is fasting, if they chose to play him still then he can't be held to blame for his performances.

Religion is a cancer that seems to infect every part of people stupid enough to believe in it. Clearly Tiote's performances are being affected.

What affects a PL players entire life is the enormous paycheque he gets from being a premier league footballer. If he cared more about some magical wizard in the sky and a book written by a band of superstitious fools with little knowledge of the world around them he would be still living in his home country doing **** all worth paying attention to.

What do you mean grow up? I don't see how my complaint that somebody is letting a superstition undermine the job that they are paid millions to do is immature.

I'm not religious but respect other people's beliefs. For most religion is part of their life from birth. It is more important to them than work and sport and as such we should all have the decency to understand this - not be ignorant and think that an individual should forget what is probably the most important thing on their lives for a game of football.

Look guys, in 2 days (I think) he'll be able to eat and drink. Just let these few bad games go and move on. He'll be back to his normal self soon.

He should be back at his very best by the time the next match happens. So should Ba if he's fasting. They'll both have a good couple of weeks to eat, drink and get their energy up.

I'm happy to respect the beliefs of others. But if I were a footballer and said I'd given up eating and drinking during day time for lent or something I'd feel pretty damn bad taking in my massive pay cheque if i performed sub par because of it.

Btw Hatem is a Geordie, I wasn't intending on this to go full swing my comments were more at professionalism in football than anything else. Not keen on being called childish because I believe it's unprofessional for a footballer earning millions every year to think fasting and ruining his fitness pleases a giant supernatural figure in the sky. I can have a religious person tell me I'm going to burn for eternity when I die and kill people in the name of their god but when I declare I have one problem with their way of life it's apparently childish.
