I really think that Chopra should be sacked. He has proven to be a divisive influence in the dressing room and his insults on Twitter to the poor fans is nothing short of disgusting. This guy's attitude I think typifies all that is wrong at Town right now. Wellens seems to have hit the nail on the head and I think it's about time we showed Chopra the door. We have bailed him out of trouble and given him a chance only for him to throw it back in our faces with his gormless comments. How he can defend some of the players for going out on the piss the very night that Jewell leaves the club just shows the utter contempt that he and some of the other players in his cabal actually show for Ipswich Town. If he was as good at scoring goals on the pitch as he is at shouting his mouth off on Twitter, we might actually get somewhere other than rock bottom. This guy has proven to be nothing but trouble and toxic beyond measure. I really hope that our new manager will drum him out of the club and a few other's who think they are "billy big bollocks!" Jewell defended this cockroach after whe went out on the piss with Bullard and this is how we are repaid. Good riddance to the no good tosser. He is what's wrong with this club and the sooner we get rid of him and a few others the better! He was going to score 30 goals this season...I hope he hasn't backed himself!

I would imagine it is not so cut and dry as that. We would have to sell or pay him off. I would have very little problem if he went for free or a nominal fee however I think he may well still owe us money - given that we bailed him out to the tune of £250,000 (apparently) when his gambling debts all came to a head.
I have to agree that he really hasn't covered himself in glory but the fact is he could still be a very good player for us, it's just he is not a very good person for us and therefore my opinion of him is 'put up or shut up' as if he isn't doing the business we're being off severing ties and focusing elsewhere

Said the same thing a while back. The least he would get under my control would be suspension for bringing the clubs name into disrepute. When I raised it last time it was generally knocked back as his problems were seen as a mental illness, although my views were mainly based on his loan/ race fixing investigation.
I have made myself a promise that I will never applaud him when he appears at PR and even if he scores it will not be celebrated. I hope I never see him in a town shirt again.

KOPR - We have paid up so many other player's contracts over the last few season's that one more surely isn't going to make much difference. Indeed I think It is something that needs to happen if we are ever to get the right sort of characters in the dressing room. He has been a soap opera ever since he arrived and we have seen very little from him on the pitch. He was another one of Jewells untouchables who were getting a game every week when we have a fit and hungry Scotland who always puts in a shift languishing on the bench. Ipswich has never been a club that has welcomed big time charlie's in the past. Just look at Burley's teams and Joe Royle's for that matter. Chopra is poison and he should be sacked for the greater good of the club.

I'm not disagreeing with you JWM, just that he must be on a decent wage therefore a payout would be substantial when (for this season at least) he could still be of (limited) use to us on the pitch.
I would also question the decision to give a player £250,000 to pay off some loan shark based in Newcastle when he is already on a high 4 or 5 figure salary. Is he paying us back? Is there some sort of agreement?

Fair play JWM <ok>

Someone should ask Clegg about this. It Would be interesting to hear the workings of the agreement between Chopra and the Club and whether he was in fact being played every week as a back handed way to collect his appearance fee that he never saw and went straight back into the club - which could be why he has been so useless and clearly not focused on the club since..

I'm afraid so ILD, I think after that absolute shocking display at the weekend the majority of the fans want to see the back of a few more! This is nothing new as we have had such a high turnover of players over the last 4 years that we haven't got any players that the fans can actually feel affinity to! If we had an honest group of grafters who were simply not up to it but worked hard and showed they cared then it wouldn't be so bad. Unfortunately we have a bunch of freeloaders who couldn't give a toss and that's what makes us angry!

The scary thing is that that 250K is two week of our entire squad wages(6 million quid a year = 500k a month = 125k a week in round terms) If it was a drop in the ocean for us it would be bad but a fortnight of our whole wage bill - unbloodybelievable <steam>

And the majority of your support feel that way? Jesus that is bad.
Putting rivalry’s aside for a few seconds, all true fans of football will be shocked by that, none of us want's to see a club in such a bad way. It's always the fans who have to take the hurt and suffering and that is awful!
I won't offer my sympathy, because, I know if the boot's on the other foot then I wouldn't want it from our rivals, but do feel your hurt! :emoticon-0150-hands

Chops, Martin and Murphy would be three I would get rid of, so I agree with this thread. Chops has done **** all on the pitch and plenty off it, time to go.

Who else do you think the permanent players with bad attitude are?

I would imagine Chops, JET, and possibly Martin

any other ideas?

JET just needs to be played in the middle where he will see more of the ball and not be asked to defend too much and he would be a good player for us. I think he would be happier too. He has ability but it's wasted on the wings, I hope the new manager sees that.
