I think using the word rotate gives the impression that players are being swapped out when they are fully fit. I don't think that is necessary. However, what I do think Wenger is doing is being very sensitive to very minor injuries and "illness". He is swapping people out, we have seen it with Wilshere, Per, Arteta, Gibbs and Flamini, that he will not play them unless they are 100% fit. Giroud and Ramsey have not had this treatment, but as long as they are 100% I think they will be in the team, and I think that is the right call.
...And right on queue Sagna has a "small" hamstring "problem". What you and I might say is that his legs are a bit tight - needs a rest, so he gets rotated. I seriously doubt that he has a tear or anything. I think that is way to do it.
I think Wenger has been very clever this season with his rotation of certain players. I seriously doubt that Ozil's injury is anything serious, and he rested him at the right time. Against Cardiff, I would rest Giroud without a doubt. To his credit, his work rate has been immense this season and needs a little breather now and then. Would start Podolski through the middle.
I agree Giroud could use a break though it's worth remembering that we have a 9 day gap between Saturdays cup game and our next game (Villa away), the longest period without a game for the rest of the season (weather permitting). Pod has only just come back from injury and is clearly being looked after by Wenger, I'd be surprised if he felt Pod was up to leading the line at this stage, more likely he'll start Bendtner or perhaps play Theo through the middle.....
