Since Agger got injured, this guy is the weak link, he can no longer dominate the defence. We need to write this season off, ( but try like mad for the FA cup). Time to drop carra, (great servant that he is).

Think everyone can agree with this, we need to give Coates more game time as well.

Carthorse Carragher has been past it for some time now.

  5. I think this is an area we (the fans) all agree on. The back line sits far too deep when Carragher plays, mainly because he leads the line and he is **** scared of pace for obvious reasons. However, who else out of our defenders lead the line...? Agger does to an extent but that is the player that is missing most!

I think we should play Coates, Carra is a legend though I hope stays around the club.

Agree Coates should be given a go, Kenny does have his favourites though, and I think Carra stay in the side until Agger comes back

If Agger is not fit for Villa game Coates should start. Carragher to be blamed for the two Arsenal goals at Anfield. He is not getting younger
    Kenny must think about this.<ok>

****, carra shoulda been stopped playing this year! Give Coates the remaning games or until Agger comes back and let him gel a bit, get more acclined to the prem, especially considering we are pretty much playing mid- lower end teams bar Chelsea at the end. So much for that good run and push for 4th eh?

Will be interesting. There was a lot of talk about Carra bring a future coach.

Well if he has any future in that, he should be able to see what is better for the team than his ego. A coach has to look objectively at individual player performances. If he stands back he can't really argue that he has been helping the team as a whole by being on the pitch.

But, the man clearly loves the game: after his shift overall for us & the fact that it's not like his inclusion in the team league wise is going to jeopardise anything, we could cut him some slack and let him finish the season cheering him all the way.
But on the other hand, it would be better if Coates got some proper time.

Start Carrager, finish with Coates (while Agger is out obviously)

I know I'll get mauled for this but maybe we use these last few league games to do the sentimental thing before replacing the old guard as starters or even squad members once & for all in the closed season.

Carrager can be shifted off to be an apprentice coach for the youth. Gerrard sat down & told he's not guaranteed first pick for the new season. Then we'll see how much they have the clubs interests at heart.

I honestly thought that once 4th was out of the question and Agger injured, Coates would have been starting all the games. If the plan is for the future, rather than this season, then Coates needs the games to develop and get to grips with the English game.
Carra needs nothing, we know what he offers and unfortunately what he offers is less and less. He's not the type of player that will be able to play on till his late 30s. Next year I would hope that he is 4th or 5th choice CB with either a new bought in summer or one of the young lads been given that 4th choice slot (I hear Wisdom is currently doing well with the reserves). He should start working on his coaching badges and at the end of next season look to retire onto the coaching staff.

Yeah new youth policy, we've genetically engineered triplets with the mixed DNA of Kenny, Beardsley & Rush and implanted them into Carra.

Molby will breast feed them and by 2030 We'll have the mother of all strike forces!

I say we play Carragher as a lone front man for the rest of the season. I bet he could bag half a dozen.

Although he'd be **** for obvious reasons, on a serious note, his positional play in the opposition's box could be brillant. As a defender who lacks the legs, he's always been good at sensing where the ball will fall and making goal-saving interventions. Imagine the same thing, but with him trying to score...

I see no value playing Carragher for the rest of the season except for the last home game as a send-off! The real value is giving Coates or even Kelly game time for next season, we have to take advantage of the position we have found ourselves, without the pressure to get top four its ideal to play those players. It would be foolish to use Carra til the end of the season and even if Agger is back I would only use hime for cup games and perhaps one or two games to keep him sharp.
