Erm......Not the version you have shown OlM. I refer to the BP version.

"""The Fighting Fury""" for example was in the BP version.

I don't mind it because it has a hint of tradition, but it reminds me of that kids cartoon 'stop the pigeon'.

Tiger Rag goes back to just after the War when it was played over the tannoy at BP

It was also played in early 70s

It's not an anthem, or a singalong chorus, just a piece of music that has long associations with the club (at least 65 years)

For a club without much history, it's a start.

The original copy was sold at the KC in the Centenary auction, with a load of other big wax 78s

    Someone out there has it.

Was that the one that went...

Stop the pigeon, stop the pigeon, fight the fury, fight the fury?

Anyone who heard the BP version may know them better than I. It was a male voice choir who sang the words from memory. Steve Jordan might know that particular version and the name of the choir. Will make enquiries,. ..t b c

I think it started out as "Tiger Rag" - an instrumental - and got words added later....?

My OP is "Tiger Rag" with the words.

Nick LaRocca is one of the writers:

Maybe, but that version's the one I know as hold the tiger. There's a different song that was used at City with the words Tiger Rag, possibly in the Robby days and it was possibly a US college or maybe an Aussie one?

Found it. Richmond in Aus. It's Tiger land, not Tiger Rag.

Tickler's mashup of the two when he decides the Richmond tune with the Rag lyrics would be good?

As for the Will Young comment someone made. I'd be fine with that so long as his latest cover is the 4 minutes silence.
