Qaasid gets sent back out at Newcastle were they won easy lto over c/d the odds are skinny at 10/11 but i really can not see any other outcome other than a win.
Lilikoi is another that has been in some good form and won readily last time at the track, the 4s look very fair .

"The early bird catches the worm(s), UC! <ok>

Think I might check-out Huntingdon as Sedgefield is a non-starter for me. Don't think I ever got a winner there, if I did certainly cannot remember what it was. :emoticon-0100-smile

Ifiwerearichman 5/1 in the 3.40 @Thurles - did not seem to jump well lto but had no issues right handed the time before, scoring comfortably and the return to a right handed track might showcase his ability better again. Sean O'Keefe is a positive on board and with the trip looking likely to suit he should go close.

Intriguing race at Southwell, 15.35. This is much tighter than the odds suggest and I hope I can get to watch this one.

The unbeaten Hickory is just top rated with a "p" at Timeform and he is hot favourite at 11/8 across the board. It's very difficult to assess him though. He hasn't been setting the world alight going by the clock and he hasn't beaten anything of any merit; BUT, he hasn't been extended, winning all 3 of his races easily, and all over 7f. He may skate up but this is his first run at Southwell, and on Tapeta

The ones looking most likely to make things as tough as possible for him are, not surprisingly, the next 3 in the betting, all around 5 or 6/1

Justcallmepete has produced some fast times at Southwell, all over 6f. The question is will he be able to keep up the pace for the extra furlong

Chola Empire won over C&D last month, comfortably, and in a very fast time. He has 10lb less to carry this time so he should be able to clock a very fast time again

Eligible's last 3 visits to track have resulted in 3 wins over the distance. This one is remarkably consistent with fast times in each of those wins. He lumped 9.8 to a comfortable win in very fast time and carries a stone less tomorrow. 14lb less <yikes>

So unless this Hickory is an exceptional gelding I think he could be in trouble and I wouldn't therefore be rushing to take the 11/8

I think it will be a fast run race and, purely on consistency, horses for courses, the weight and the clock, I would rather take a chance on Eligible at the prices

The only horse in the race (the others being geldings) is Sir Thomas Gresham, who has been competing at a much higher level but is having his first run for 1252 days. First run under his new trainer and Tom Queally on board. Could well outrun his odds of 40/1

Proper mixed bag normally at Sedgefield the hill gets them if the conditions dont ! With the conditions on the better side today i am drawn to the 3rd a 27f Chase . Henry brown ran well at C/d Lto under Hughes in S-g/s , interesting to see Burns has put Hughes back in the Plate and the crookies are offering 13/2 . Not an ew bet for me just win but i am sure they will have a good shout at this .

Huntingdon is certainly not so easy today, and it is with some trepidation that I put forward Ez Tiger in the (15:25), a Class-5 Handicap Hurdle over an extended 2m4f. I understand that it is important that a runner keeps-up with the pace on this track, and not lay too far back? If the selection can keep in touch reasonably well, then the Sholokhov gelding has a decent chance, as he is starting to show a bit of form. Bryan Carver rides for the Alex Hales yard.

4/1 (Wm.Hill/BetVictor) best price at time of writing.

Well, I watched it and it was intriguing. Disappointed with Eligible although I suppose the drift out to 16/1 told us something. Sir Thomas Gresham went off at 150/1 and, considering he lost about 10l at the start it was a promising run from him (less than 10l behind the winner, and 8l behind the 5/4 fav). It will be interesting to see if he is entered again in the near future. The race itself was disappointing as the time was over a second slower than the Class 4 race 30 mins earlier. That could account for how Justcallmepete was motoring at the finish and would probably have got up in a few more strides. 2 of the 3 I mentioned came in ahead of Hickory but I overlooked the 11/1 winner. Based on his run at Newcastle last month, when he won a Class 2 race comfortably, I should have given him a chance but I was put off by his subsequent run where he was unplaced and hung left at this course, carrying a stone less than today. Couldn't have predicted that one

My only consolation was the highlighted bit above. Thought I had done a decent analysis on that race. Must do better <laugh>

Not seen qaasid race but i am sure they will be disapointed with second.
I put perfect swiss in my placepot bet as i fancy a good run from them and looking at the odds now they have gone from 6s yesterday to 7/2 2nd fav .

Ez Tiger raced most of the way out the back, then made a promising move up the rail only to blunder about two hurdles out. Ah welll, might give the horse one more chance later. Maybe.

Well, Ron, I'm kind of glad Justcallmepete didn't win. Don't know why. <whistle> <laugh>
